Does the hdmi output on the camera go to full 1080p or 720p?

Full 1080p. I recommend this camcorder for recording public meetings.

how to transfer internal memory to computer

When you plug the usb cable from camera to USB. There is a button that you press on the camera (top left button...sorry forgot the name). It's the button when you open the screen, buttons are on the body of the camera. then on the display it will give you the option to select where you want to view/edit files. select which memory (memory card a, b or internal). I usually select all by touching that option on the touch screen. Then your computer will read it as a memory card/thumb drive/external drive. You can now save onto you pc.

You said this only comes with the camera and the charging cord. I'm assuming it has a good battery, yes?

No- It has to be charged regularly..One bad thing about the camera. otherwise -its great
