Art History for Everyone: Learn Art in a Fun, Easy, No-Nonsense Way

Totally opened my door to art. No I know where to go. Recommend to all people who want to understand art but thought its to hard to start.

Love this book! I have always wanted to learn more about art and always found it intimidating; that is until now! I am only 1/3 of the way through it and have learned more through this book than I have learned in all the museums that I have been in. It feels great to know what some of those insights are and realizing that by using the Restaurant Method, I will eliminate the overwhelm I have felt in the past! Thank you, Kristine, for an amazing book that was fun, easy, and informative!!!

I listened to a lecture from this author. It was fascinating and the book is an extend version of that lecture with beautiful and fun pictures for art lovers who are hesitant to pickup a art history book. Is simply written with interesting information.

This is an attractive book and well written. An easy read and informative. Personally, I wish it was more in depth and had more photos. A good book none the less. Excellent for the basics.

Perfect book

I have read many art books...this one is unique in not only telling the "what" about paintings and styles, but also the "why," and offers a continuity of understanding of art through the ages that I appreciate. I've also learned new information about the artists and their works, despite my reading background in art. Lastly, I admire the author's open-hearted approach to inviting especially those intimidated by the enormous field of art to walk right into the banquet and enjoy the freedom and joy of selectively experiencing small bites at a time...and to look forward to returning often.

I liked the simplicity of all painting explanations and the life summary of the artists themselves. It is always a delight when besides looking at the painting we discover the intimate feelings of the artist at the moment of his painting creations.

Excellent. Conversation style that makes Art History available to anyone.
