The description says it uses a plug, but the pictures appear to be hardwired. How is this powered?

Both option are possible. The panel comes with a plug and you do not have to hardwire it. Assuming that you just want to use the plug, then you probably won’t be mounting the panel. In that case you will want to order a stand. There’s the IQ Base and IQ table stand that you can order.

The IQ Panel 4 is definitely an improvement from your 2. It’s the latest version and has significant security encryption features as well much more utility applications. For locks and thermostats you won’t see much of a change aside from the larger screen and better panel navigation features and better encryption.

What kind of things can be done with the Alexa integration? Can a routine be set to turn on all Wifi lights if an alarm is detected?

Certain wifi lights integrate with the alarm.com service. Rules can be made via the website to turn lights on with alarms or sensor activations such as door contacts and motion detection. The compatible lights are Zwave and certain wifi lights/devices.
