Great Product. Excellent Customer Service.
I had a very specific set of requirements for a series of videos that I was producing, and none of the existing tech I could find would do the job. I stumbled upon Hey Mic! during a google search and decided to take a chance on it. It's a fantastic little product and does exactly what I need it to do. There was an issue with the manufacturer's app not recognizing the telephoto lens on my iPhone 7s, so I emailed support and within 24 hours they responded and had updated the app to resolve the issue - excellent customer service. If you're filming any sort presentation video with your phone, and you're looking for a wireless solution to capture audio simultaneously, look no further. Highly recommended.

Hey Mic! is everything I expected, and more.
Now that I've had the opportunity to use Hey Mic! in a few speaking engagements, I'm able to say that I am extremely pleased with its performance. Here are some of the things I like about it:• It is unobtrusive. People don't even notice that you're wearing it.• The sound is excellent• The range is good.• It's easy. The Hey Cam app (you need this to capture sound + video) just works. I was able to hand my iPhone to an attendee and have them shoot video--without missing a beat.If you speak in public or make videos with your phone, you should be using Hey Mic!

To me this is a breakthrough
I tried the Ampridge MightyMic W+ and audio quality was terrible. I'd been using the Alead Nolan BTMIC2 for a couple years and it's decent. But after doing my own testing, Hey Mic! trumps them both in terms of audio quality! I'm not sure how they got the audio to sound like it's higher definition using just the standard Bluetooth protocols but it's awesome. Granted Instamic is probably the highest quality Bluetooth mic you can buy at the moment because they freaking built their own protocols but it doesn't do streaming well as it was designed with professional recording in mind. Hey Mic! is my new go-to for streaming over Bluetooth.

The instructions leave out one tiny, important detail...but overall satisfied...
The pairing went just as the instructions included said it would. I recorded several short test video clips to test the function of the Hey Mic. All went as expected until I tried to play the video back in the included CAM app. No audio. After several iterations, I discovered that the Hey Mic had to be turned off for the audio on the clips to be heard. Nothing in the instructions mentioned this, but I've found it, and couldn't be more pleased with the performance of the Hey Mic. Audio quality is good, and it works well for my intended purpose. Using it on an Iphone 8+.

It Works Great, but Only on its own app
The microphone works great. HOWEVER, "it only works with its own app". So don't go buy it and think that it would work with all the apps that you currently have on your phone.

Easy to pair with my iPhone 8 plus
Easy to pair with my iPhone 8 plus. Shot several videos and a review on youtube. Gain is a bit high but overall quality is way better than the stock mic. Only complaint is the Hey Cam app has no option for 60 fps video and the iso has to be adjusted pretty high for the front facing camera in anything other than very well lit environments. Been waiting for someone to release a small clip on Bluetooth mic for smartphones. You won't be disappointed!

Great for speakers
This device has exceeded my expectations, once we learned how to use it. It records well however the instructions do not tell you that you need to turn off the app in Bluetooth before you can hear the audio. Glad I have it.

The concept of the mic is great but the quality severely lacks
All of the reviews on this product are not verified purchases so please do not judge based on previous reviews. The concept of the mic is great but the quality severely lacks. The vocal recording is so low quality that no matter how high or low the gain is the recording is distorted. So many frequencies including the high frequencies are completely cut out. This mic can not be used for professional use. Great idea and concept but extremely lacked on quality

Excellent
I've been looking for a bluetooth microphone that would allow me to record my wife, who is a preacher and lecturer, using my Android smartphone (Sony Xperia). All of the ones I have tried have either not worked at all or had very disappointing results with bad sound quality. I resisted getting a Hey Mic!, because it was fairly expensive and there weren't many verified reviews. Eventually I got one and I am very glad I did.It connected with my phone's bluetooth very quickly and then, despite the fact that there's currently still no dedicated android app, I used the excellent Parrot Voice recorder app (also quite expensive, but worth it), which can be set up to use a bluetooth mic. It was very easy to start and stop recording and I found (contrary to other comments) the sound quality was really very good, as long as the distance between the mic and the smartphone was not too great (appx. 16' - 4.88m) and there were no obstacles in the way. Once the distance got too far (appx. 8m), the sound quality did deteriorate - but I guess that is unavoidable due to the limitations of bluetooth. The mic itself seems well made and clips discretely anywhere needed (there's also a magnetic fitting included to help attach it) and the battery lasts a fair time (so far the maximum we've used it has been 2 hours). It's a perfect solution that allows me to record a sermon or lecture for uploading to her website without distracting others and making my wife over-conscious that she's being recorded. Using the Parrot app allows me to set a time for the recording, so I don't even have to take my phone out of my pocket, as long as the mic has been connected beforehand.I haven't used it for video recording, because I don't need to , but as a bluetooth mic it works very well and is well worth the extra cost.

DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY WITH ANDROID PHONES
Compatibility issues with Android. If you have an Andoid phone I would not buy this product. I have had real frustration with this product. THERE IS NO ANDROID APP DESPITE THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION. Instead they recommend using a free software to download that does not work properly in as much as you cannot or it is incredibly difficult to download onto the sd card as there is no folder for it. I have been recommended to buy some additional software. When the film that has been recorded with the mic is transferred to YouTube format it only comes out of one speaker. BE WARNED. I can't comment on Apple but with android I'd does not work well. The support is not very timely either. Since posting this the vendor has offered a full refund.

Probably good for recording but no help with broadcast
I couldn't get this to work in the situation I needed it for but that might be a limitation of BT protocols rather than the device. On the + side, it was small, convenient, clipped on well and had decent sensitivity and clarity. But, I wanted to use it as a lapel mic while making presentations in schools and conference venues which often didn't have hands-free mics. With a regular mic, this is achieved with a setting in the device profile, but this one would only return the sound output to the mic (which has an headphone port) as it seems to look like a handset to the PC. This was no good for me so I returned the device

Bad quality - if it even works in the first place
Unfortunately I had major problems with this mic. It worked intermittently, cutting out at regular intervals with me having no way of knowing while recording video. Which resulted in me having to film in short bursts to keep checking that it was working. I asked for a replacement to be sent out, which was, and it was exactly the same. I followed all the instructions and advice and there is no reason why it shouldn’t have worked.I have to say even when it was working, the sound quality was terrible and it was almost a blessing that it didn’t work so I got my money back and filmed everything from the beginning again with a voice over. Very frustrating!

Sound quality poor
I REALLY wanted this mic to be great as it would have been so useful to record myself speaking at events and then create show reels from that. Unfortunately the sound quality wasn't up to par. There was a constant hissing noise in the background of the recording and then the voice recording sounded ever so slightly muffled. The sound quality was significantly worse than recording a video using the in-built iPhone mic. It certainly would not have sounded professional enough to create videos from. Not worth keeping at this price so I've returned it and will look for other options...
