Yed, you just need to have these lights going at the same time when you connect the app. You can connect up to 3 lights though.

Q: Is this hardwire? Because it says battery powered...

I don’t remember seeing it being battery operated, mine is hardwired and the smaller one. The remote is battery’s operated.
