Baby Loves It, But Some Downsides
My baby absolutely loves the Dr. Brown's Milestones Baby's First Straw Cup! It was an easy transition from a bottle, and the soft silicone straw is gentle on gums and great for little hands learning how to sip. The handles are perfectly sized, and my baby took to it right away — it quickly became our go-to cup for water and milk. That said, there are a couple of drawbacks. It does tend to leak if it tips over or is shaken (which, let’s be honest, happens constantly with a baby). Also, the silicone straw stains pretty easily — especially if your baby eats or drinks anything with color (like purees or juice). Even after thorough washing, the straw holds onto some of those stains.Despite those minor issues, we still use it daily because of how much our baby enjoys it. Just something to keep in mind if you’re looking for a leak-proof or stain-resistant option. Overall, a great starter straw cup!

Almost Perfect
Almost everything about this cup is great. Love that it’s spill proof, easy for my one year old to hold, has the weighted straw and has the ability of close the straw. Just a couple downsides: 1. Liquid gets stuck in the top part of the straw since it’s not free flowing and seeps out when turned over or opening the straw. 2. The top isn’t the easiest to screw on with the handles.Overall though, this is the best straw sippy cup we’ve used.

It doesn't leak IF .. you connect the straw pieces tightly
This was the perfect bottle for our baby to transition from a bottle to straw. She loves the handles, she can drink from any position, the flat straw makes for easy suction.A few comments said it leaks. I've found that if you have to attach the straw pieces (the part with the ball and the mouth portion) really tightly, otherwise it leaks like crazy. So before we use it, we give that piece an extra squeeze and we haven't had a leak since. The downsides - it has a lot of pieces to wash and put together. The handle and the top piece are a little annoying to keep aligned during assembly .I will line up the handle and the top and hold it in place with one hand while screwing on the bottom.

Great straw sippy cup!
Our little guy loves using this cup, out of all the ones we’ve tried (which is a lot), these are definitely his go to favorite! The reason I have it as a 4 star is because if air gets in the hose connection, the milk doesn’t come through and you have to pull it all apart and fix it. Since my little guy can’t talk, it’s hard to know if it’s happening or not. The straws are also a little more difficult to clean but the little straw bristle brush cleaners work great for cleaning them!Love the colors, super durable material, milk stays cool for a while as well which is good! All around a great sippy cup and great for learning to drink from a straw!

The BEST Transitional Cup!!
Purchased these cups to help my 7-month-old transition to a sippy cup. Since the straws are soft/flexible, he caught on very quickly! These have great capacity and I've filled them with water, formula, and even homemade smoothies! They don't spill out unless your child bangs it against their high chair. 😅 It has a stopper on the inside to prevent leaking. As a boy mom, this set has the perfect colors & it disassembles easily for cleaning. Unfortunately, the cups are not insulated, so they don't keep the drink cold unless it's in a cooler. However, it's worth the buy! My friends even bought these for their kids because they liked them so much.

Great price for 2 cups but they are a frustrating mess
The price is great for these 2 cups but I'm sure there are better options available. At first nothing would come up the straw so I had to Google it and found a TikTok where a mom explained there is a valve in the straw mechanism that cannot be covered or nothing will go up the straw, so insert the other piece in it but leave the valve hole open. Once I made sure I had it put together as she shows in her video, it immediately worked properly. None of this information is in the instructions that come with the cups, by the way. The other problem is that they are not leak or spill proof. My 1 year old decided to shake the cup around while it still had milk in it and it leaked out through the straw, the top, etc. and we had droplets of milk all over the place! I have not tried bring a cup with liquid in it in the diaper bag but I imagine I would have a leaky mess if I did. If you supervise your kid while they are drinking, these cups do the job and are a good value for 2 of them. Otherwise, they are a frustrating mess.

very good sippy cup. no spills!
these are amazing. my baby loves them and also loves to throw them on the floor... but they are very durable and made well enough that its not a problem. cheap enough if he manages to break one. which he has not done yet after 3 months of abuse. whole things comes apart easy for cleaning and the check valve keeps the spills to a minimum. another win for DR. Browns!

Great for babies, not toddlers
These are definitely my favorite of the no-leak straw cups for a few reasons1. The ounce markings let you see how much your little is drinking.2. The handles are removable, so the cup can fit in the stroller cup holder or side diaper bag pocket easily.3. All the parts, including the lid, can be disassembled and run through the dishwasherThe drawbacks are the same as with all leak-proof straw cups— it requires a very powerful suck to get any liquid out, and very little liquid comes out when it does, which is fine for a baby whose majority calories are coming from formula or breastmilk. We noticed our toddler was not drinking a lot of water, and once transitioning to a traditional water bottle the problem fixed itself. We will continue to use Dr. Brown’s while our children are infants, but will transition to a different straw cup when they get older.
