Good quality and compact to fit in pocket
This is a good scraper. It is tough and can fit in a pocket. Easy to deploy and lock. Sharp point, so watch your hands - I cut my own a couple times, so I'm not sure that's a plus. You can always dull it down some.

Functional and Relatively Inexpensive
What you get with this purchase is a functional razor blade scraper and a folding multi tool, also often called a painter’s tool. I’ll review these individually. The razor blade scraper comes with a nice protective cap which fits firmly and will help prevent nasty cuts from happening when reaching into a toolbox. I used this tool for the better part of one day to scrape paint drips from glass and trim excess paint from around the glazing of recently painted traditional glass windows. The scraper worked pretty well, but I found that the razor blade tended to shift from side to side in the holder, making it necessary to have to adjust the blade periodically. A better design probably would have a stop on one side to give the blade fewer options for movement. The folding multi tool is a pretty tool, but pretty tools are pretty much wasted in the painting world where only functionality matters, and tools get rough treatment. I guess that the folding feature takes up less space in a toolbox, but the old-fashioned, one-piece multi tool design has worked extremely well for more years than I’ve been around, so why mess with it? I used the multi tool when preparing a weathered porch floor for repair and painting. The blade did try to close on me one time, but I really tightened it and had no more issues. The multi tool blade is tiny, with a width of only about 1 3/8 inches. Compare that to the width of a standard painters tool, which is over three inches. (See photo.) If you were scraping a large two-story house, which tool would you rather use to scrape paint? A tool that can only scrape 1 3/8 inches at a time, or one that can scrape 3 1/4 inches at a time? The small scraping blade did not come sharpened, and had to be touched up. The knife edge on the side was slightly sharper, and the serrated section was very sharp. Because of the small width and relative thickness of its steel blade, I found this tool better suited for gouging out failing caulk or putty rather than scraping paint. To me, the multi tool is probably better suited to reside in a homeowner’s tool drawer—where it’s multiple functions will come in handy—than in a professional painter’s tool box.

Heavy duty, easy to install the razors, the putty knife is very difficult to close - all very sturdy
LOVE the scrapper - easy to replace the blades, tough and solid. I use it a lot on my glass stovetop to scrap off any hardened spills. Works great. The putty knife is also well built, but the mechanism for opening and closing the blade (they call it the folding button) is a small molded screw head, which crimps the two sides together to hold the blade in place. Not a "button" at all. When closed it is easy to turn to open the blade, but when you open the blade and tighten the screw (so it doesn't close on your hand) it is VERY difficult to grasp to unscrew it. I had to use a rubber bottle opener pad to get the grip I needed to unscrew it so it opened. As the putty blade is sharp blades on all sides, it is unnerving to have to play with it like this.I highly recommend a revamp of the tightening mechanism and this set will shine.Great price, strong and solid, but one design flaw that detracts the a star. Should and could be a 5 star item.
