Simple and sturdy
Easy to install and very sturdy - even with a heavy steel post sleeve and mailbox it doesn't wobble.

So easy to use. Made a really quick job putting up a new mailbox
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Someone ran over our old mailbox so it was time for a new one. Having lived at this house for 15 years this was the first mailbox we ever lost. I bought a really nice one from a box store and it's made to slip over a 4x4. And man, I did not want to dig a hole, get cement and put a post in the ground. So I found this. And it's perfect. There is almost no wobble to my pretty heavy mailbox and made installation sooooo easy. I absolutely recommend this.

Little weak for what it is
I think there are products that does a much better job then this does. Wood splits from driving the angle iron into it, also doesn't really hold up the weight of the 4x4 if the ground is a little soft.

Works perfectly
70-year-old female here - I was able to pound that stake into my clay-ridden soil then pound the wooden post onto it. I feel very accomplished!!! It is very sturdy and holds my new mailbox post perfectly.

Holding up the mailbox so far.
I pounded it into the ground and mounted the mailbox. We ordered a larger mailbox and is sways a bit, but the ground is soft where we have our mailbox. Holding up well.

Too Short
Post is way too short. It doesn’t even seem to work with the mailboxes from the same company, and doesn’t seem to work with any other mailboxes. No idea what this is actually supposed to work with, but this item doesn’t make installing a mailbox any easier since it simply doesn’t work. Also, the wood isn’t treated to it will rot away.

Works ok for a few years but deteriorates quickly
The GOOD part of this system is you just hammer a metal spike into the ground with minimal/no digging a post hole. You then just take the 2 foot 3x3 that has a center hole in one end, and hammer it down onto the metal spike, and poof, a reasonably stable mailbox-THE BAD part is that the wood is NOT pressure treated and so over the course of a few years 2-3 in my case (I've gone through 3 now,) the end of the post touching the ground rots away, and the metal post is still secure in the ground, but the wood post is now all loosey goosey and wobbles around because the hole the metal part sits in is now wet rotted mush. Your mailbox will start to lean horribly...so you have to buy another post kit-If you are able, digging a 2-3+ foot hole and using a piece of PT Lumber like you would for a fence post will be a much more permanent fix. Otherwise, unless you live in a desert, you get to do the EASY fix ever 2-3 years and keep spending your money.
