Too fertile
Use sparingly and keep it under at least 3 inches of cap and at least 5 inches away from the edges of the tank. If it bleeds in to the water it'll cause absolute havoc with your water.

Needs rinsing a lot of rinsing and it floots so top it with sand or gravel
This soil floots and needs rinsing a lot of rinsing but it does work. Plants grow with it, but of this is your first attempt at putting soil in an aquarium go with another one unless your putting sand or gravel on top of it. But get a bucket and wash it first and then wash it some more

JBL AquaBasis plus is a base layer, it is not a gravel sand or a substrate to use on its own.
I'm writing this review because there seems to be some confusion with this product JBL AquaBasis plus.this product is to go under your substrate to provide long-term nutrition to your plants.In my tank I have 10l of JBL AquaBasis plus under 40l of JBL Manado. (240l tank)you don't wash it or rinse it because you will wash away the nutrients it's supposed to provide.I have provided pictures of my tank it's been going for 4yrs on these two JBL products, I have no co2, I provide no extra fertiliser.

Perfekt für Pflanzenwachstum
Das Produkt hält was es verspricht. Meine Pflanzen wachsen Super und bekommen ausreichend Nährstoffe Sodas eine Zusätzliche Düngung nicht mehr von Nöten ist. Einfach ein Muss wer ein schön bepflanztes Aquarium haben will.
