Comparatively I could get through four or five cocktails using these straws before they started to show deterioration versus one at best with the inferior paper straws.Overall, these are a superior product, they are bit expensive but if you consider you could use one straw for the majority of the evening versus five or six of the competing paper straws the cost is relative.

I am always looking to make product purchases that help instead of hurt the environment wherever possible. On the other hand, though, as most people who make those purchases can tell you, oftentimes, that can mean sacrificing the quality we're used to.NOT the case here!These straws are not paper, which already handles one of the biggest issues with most environmentally friendly disposable straw replacements. I have yet to have them disintegrate or dissolve in any drinks, and they feel solid enough that I'm not concerned they will in any normal setting despite being biodegradable. They genuinely feel like standard plastic, and there's no textural disturbance whatsoever. No smell or taste inside, which I've also experienced in the past. An aside: truly a gorgeous color.If you want to make an environmentally conscious choice, this is a great one. I haven't had them long enough to compost them so I can't speak on the timeframe for them to break down, but I'm keeping them aside to do so later (have to restart the pile -- oops!).I hope this review is helpful for anyone with questions about this product. I love these straws. I use them with hot and cold drinks.

I love the straws - let me first start by saying that. But the way they came from Amazon. The pull paper part from Phade could still be pulled. But Phade should SEAL the entire box’s. Not safe at all. As you can see from the pictures. Very disappointing.

I hate the feel of paper straws, and thought that's what these were going to feel like, but when I first opened the package, I thought these were plastic straws. There are a lot of these in the package and they'll last me a good long time. However, they're not remotely "jumbo" and I have to fish them out of the mouth of the 20oz Vitamin water to take a sip and after an hour, it's not showing any signs of dissolving (I assume if it did, it would still be safe to consume). They'll work great in soda cans, just not in water bottles.These straws claim to be biodegradable and compostable, so I'll be tossing them into the commercial compost bin that our city picks up every week: food scraps/waste, yard leaves/clippings, etc. If they truly are compostable, that's a win since straws cannot go into the plastic recycling bin because it messes up the equipment. One star off for the misleading "jumbo" description, though. I guess I should have ordered the "large" straws instead.

I didn’t even realize they were made from a different material than normal. You get so Many in the box they lady for a long time

These straws are perfect. They feels nice and smooth on your lips like plastic straws do without the guilt. These make me feel better about myself because they do not hurt the environment. They are very durable unlike paper straws. A must try.

These straws are ok I guess… just ok! They are very long and when you go to cut it with a pair of scissors, the stuff it is made out of, kinda doesn’t let you cut it clean so it it comes out all weird! I thought I would like these but I think I just got a box full of just in case straws! The color is pretty good though….
