Wobbles and makes you wonder if it is safe
I wanted to add this to my Steelcase Leap chair, but it just kept slipping off when I tried to adjust it. Are you supposed to tighten it down with an industrial wrench or something? I think I clamp design would be better than what they have here, unfortunately.

Does the job
The mounting process wasn't that straightforward, I found that slipping the clips in place before sliding in the headrest in was the easiest for me using a steelcase leap 2, but after screwing it in it does mount pretty solid assuming you used the non slip pad it came with. The materials are not the best and it looked kinda used, but if you gave a kidney for a brand name ergo chair that does not come with a headrest for some God forsaken reason, this does everything that it said it was going to do. Also the clips are kinda short so if u have a thicc backed chair you might be boned.

Absolutely Worthless
I have a Steelcase Leap v2 office chair, so if you also have the same chair as I do and are considering buying this, then do not waste your time or money on this. This model chair is well within the measurement requirements to supposedly be compatible with this headrest, but within less than five minutes after attaching it (tightly, I might add, with the properly sized bolts and adhesive strip applied to the chair) to the chair, it immediately slid out of place and fell off the chair into the floor with only very light pressure from resting my neck/head against it, you know, as one would do with a headrest. Even while it was still attached in place, it was extremely awkward and flimsy to the point that I had to position my head further back than what I'd consider comfortable, and the headrest constantly tilts all over the place since its tilt feature doesn't even have any sort of locking mechanism.I guess my neck will be sore for a little while longer. I honestly seriously regret buying a chair without any sort of neck/head support in the first place, and the only favor buying this headrest has done is convince me that apparently an aftermarket headrest of actually decent quality does not exist. I'm returning this product immediately, and I've bitten the bullet and ordered a better chair with a proper headrest.

This is a Test!
On arrival it was just some parts in a bag, with no directions. But it's a simple task: just put the supplied 2 steel clamps on the headrest part and put it on the chair. Several pairs of 6mm bolts of different lengths, and you have to select the 2 that hold the steel bracket-clamps on to the headrest and then the other 2 that will go through the front holes to squeeze onto the chair frame. My chair is an aero-type with a thick plastic back-frame so the 2 sets of the shortest bolts worked for me. The headrest is still a little loose clamped on to the chair back, the back frame still bends and isn't strong enough to hold the headrest steady even though the headrest won't come off, but good enough for a 1st attempt. (See below!)After consideration of the various methods, what I ended-up doing was carefully measuring and drilling two 1/4" holes in the top of the chair frame to bolt the headrest. This is more secure and rigid than using the brackets and supplied hardware. The bolts with the kit are 6mm but I used two 1/4 -20 Allen-head bolts instead (with the 6mm washers) BECAUSE in order to fasten the assembly tightly I used 1/4 -20 NUT-PLATES that make a connection much stronger than anything in the installation kit.The human head only weighs about 11 pounds, and the headrest supports it easily with a VERY strong connection to the chair frame. To do this, use masking tape (measure from each side and mark the CENTER of the back and THEN the 2 holes : 7cm apart: 3.5/3.5cm from CENTER.)This is MUCH more accurate when you drill a very small hole to match the center of each hole on the headrest. Then when drilling each larger 1/4" hole, it will be exactly lined up. It pays to be careful drilling those holes, or you'll also make holes through the mesh or upholstery. A flat piece of metal held in the back prevents that (except for the hole you want to make.) The nut-plates MAY need to be trimmed to fit on the inside the frame. Holding the headrest in position with the bolts and washers in, engage each nut-plate by starting the bolts and then tighten with your Allen key. This works better than anything else -but examine what you have to work with and the best location up or down on the center line. My chair has a U-channel on the inside part of the back frame. I decided to trim the nut-plates to just fit inside that channel, which means the 2 holes had to be measured and drilled in exactly the right place (where the nut-plates would fit) If you miss either of those holes you can still use a small round file to get the right fit and it won't matter too much when you get the connections tight. What they (Tofficu) tried to do in making a "Universal Headrest Addition to Any Office Chair" is provide the basic parts, but in some cases like mine that's just not enough and the installation requires a little more for it to work. In this case, the most basic part is the headrest assembly. If I had to start from "scratch" and make the headrest myself it probably wouldn't look so nice, so it saved me time and energy. This is a bargain at the price!
