Out of the blue, my grandson asked if I’d like to see his coin collection. I didn’t even know he collected coins. But when he handed me a plastic bag holding a fair number of coins, I immediately started looking for a coin collecting book to display his coins.This particular coin album can store 120 coins of up to silver-dollar size. The coin pockets are made of a sturdy yet soft plastic. And the album’s covers and inside pages feel like they should hold together well over timeBut as a novice coin collector, there are other features I’d like to have seen.[1] The book is designed to hold cardboard squares. Each square has a circular hole cut out of it -- and the coin then fits into that hole. I think these cardboard squares are call “coin sleeves”. No cardboard coin sleeves were included with the album – which I acknowledge was stated on the Amazon description page. Yet all the Amazon description pictures showed all the album-displayed coins as being mounted within those coin sleeves. Note that without those coin sleeves, turning the album upside down would cause all the coins to immediately fall out.[2] Many coins are smaller than silver-dollar sized coins. So if some of the coin pockets (and coin sleeves) were smaller sized, more coins could be displayed per album page.Bottom line: For the novice, if getting this album, know you also must buy the coin sleeves which the album is designed to handle.

I bought this album to get my coins organized so I can see what I have. Nice

I was excited to showcase my coins in this book.The protective outside cover is good, but the sleeves are basic plastic and each square holder for a coin has a slit at the bottom.As i started putting the coins in, they would not stay how i wanted, constantly moving as i put the next one and moved around quite a bit with each one i added.As i completed one page and turned it coins were dripping out.I wanted so much to like this product but i must say it fell very short of my expectations.I do think it's perfect for something less heavy than a coin, like a stamp or something similar.But, since it's mostly advertised as a coin book and even says "coin album" on the cover it doesn't quite stand up as a good album for that.I ended up taking my coins out and will see if something else i collect would be more practical as the cover, sleeves and slots are useful just not for coins because they move too much and are too loose for my liking.

I bought for a friend he loved it like me he is a collector and this is a good place to protect them

As this item is purchased as I gift, all I can say as it looks like it does in order and actually looks very good
