Leather Flat Wallet Pliers and 10 Hefty Leather Clip Clamps

These pairs are very nice for the price .They are clean and tight.

I use these on cowboy boots to bend the outer sole around the toe area with the stitching back into shape. Sometimes the boot edges bend up after they get wet. I simply wet my boot edges with a wet rag and after they are slightly plyable I bend them back into shape with these.

I mostly make wallets, and I normally use blocks of wood along with some larger spring clamps to hold my leather together until the saregum glue that I use dries. I really wondered how these pliers would work, so I took a piece of leather, glued one edge and folded the leather over and applied some pressure with these pliers. The leather edge stayed together without springing apart, which really surprised me. I watched it for a few moments and then added a few of the small clamps that came in this kit. It worked much better than I had expected.The tool itself is about 8 1/4” long, and the jaw is ~1.711” wide by ~0.836” deep. The inside of the jaws have ~1.5 mm leather (~4 oz). When the jaws are closed, the leather makes full contact, so if you use these pliers on some heavier weight leather, the jaws would probably make contact at one point only and not the entire surface.The forging of the pliers is a little rough, but the finish makes it so there’s no burrs and feels smooth (with bumps). The jaws are ground flat on two sides and the front, so the upper and lower jaws match. I can’t see under the leather on the jaw faces, but they appear to be flat. The red handles look like they were dipped into rubberized liquid, vice separate rubber handles. The pliers feel good and solid in my hands and I can apply a fair amount of pressure.The 10 small spring clamps are a nice addition to the kit. The steel is fairly thin, but they clamp better and harder than I was expecting. The clamp ends are dripped in a rubberized liquid and haven’t left any marks on my leather, yet. The tip is ~0.914” wide and they are ~2.172” long. It’s also nice that they don’t take up much storage room.

They are a little rough around the edges, and the leather on the jaws to protect your leather project, should be a little thicker, but if your ordering these for a leather shop, that's an easy fix. They do the job, and for a desirable price.

The soft-jawed flat pliers and the little spring clamps are perfect for small leather projects, and are much gentler on the piece than whacking with a hammer. Very handy!

The media could not be loaded.  I like the weight, the sturdiness, and the shape. The red grip seems to be set tightly; I don't think it will come off anytime soon. The only reason I gave this a 4/5 is because the casting could have been refined but that is something cosmetic.

I love that there is leather on the inside of the clamp so that it does not mark or damage the keychain. It securely and evenly clamps the keychain closed. Highly recommend.
