Rock Band 3 Microphone for Wii

While similar, this is not the microphone advertised.

I rarely buy things with no reviews, but I decided to take a chance with this microphone. It has worked great so far (had it less than a week). It is actually a Logitech mic inside Madcatz packaging. I didn't care about the brand, I just wanted something that will work and this one does. I even bought a second one so two of us could sing at the same time. I like that is has some "heft" to it, doesn't feel flimsy.This part is just an aside - not related to the performance of the mic. After buying this, I bought a used one at a local store so we would have two. Once we finally realized that the cigarette smell was coming from the mic (ewww!), I returned it and bought a new one.

I bought 2 mics. One came with a dent on top and the other didn't work at all. Buying a "Rock Band 3 mic" for the Wii WILL NOT help with the vocal issues the game is having on Wii. Some songs it slightly helps deploy Overdrive, but it doesn't help too much. So all i have now is an extra mic and one that needs to be returned. Just have to keep dealing with the mic issues on Wii. No getting around it much unless trying things they suggest on the Rock Band forums/blog. Unfortunately, lately, it seems you can only purchase these mics online. The stores are getting very limited or not carry much for these games. I think Rock Band and Guitar Hero made too many products in the early stages of these games. It got really popular eventually and now the hype is dying down. Now they are trying to sell what crap they have left to get it out of the warehouses. Only buy this product if you REALLY need a microphone for the game.

I did not even get the "ROCK BAND 3 MICROPHONE FOR WII" that I ordered. I got a cheaper model that I could have got for a lot less money. I wanted the "Rock Band 3" microphone because that was what was pictured. If I wanted the other model, I would have ordered that one instead. However, I'm ok keeping the one that was sent to me, because it does work just fine and it has a longer cord; and I do not want to go through the hassle of returning it. Like I said, this will work just fine, put apparently this company that I ordered from sends the other model instead of the Rock Band 3. Amazon should check with the companies they go through to make sure they are not ripping people off.

I didn't use this for a game system- i used it for vocalizing on my computer and this is GREAT!It compares to a condenser microphone-this is my 3rd microphone i have bought and this was the cheapest and ironically the best .Everything is clear-this is a great and cheap way to make your own recordings on your computer-however you would need a THIN pop filter to make more quality for singing or rapping.

This microphone is just what I was looking for and couldn't find in the stores. I was so disappointed when I bought the guitar and the game but got home to discover I couldn't play the game at all without the elusive microphone that I had fruitlessly searched for.Just make sure you check the "platform" information before you order any microphone. I almost ordered a mic for the xbox on accident as it said wii/xbox/ps in the title of the product. However, when I clicked through it said "xbox" in the platform information.

This game is fun to play but the music selection is limited unless you go online and buy more. Just to get all the equipment is costly let alone buying more music. It is also hard to get the WII set up online unless you have cable online access.

Like others have said (which I didn't read until I received the item) the mic I got says Guitar Hero on it. Needs to be titled something like "Misc. microphones for games x, y, z..." The way they are listing the item is false advertising. Two stars because it will work, but I wanted the rock band name brand.
