Water detector
Very sensitive, and the push alerts seem good. The instructions were difficult to read could have done with a larger font.Didn’t know about the monthly subscription for sms/phone call options.

Effective at detecting leaks and sending notifications promptly.
The Wi-Fi Water Leak Detector is designed to send notifications and alarms to your phone when a leak occurs, even if you're not at home. This feature is incredibly useful for people who have busy lives or are away from home frequently. You can view the history and time of each water alarm on the "TUYA" app, which makes it easy to stay informed about potential issues. One thing that stood out to me was the loud alarm sound that the device emits when a leak is detected. The sound lasts for 60 seconds and is designed to be loud enough to penetrate through walls and rooms. This feature could be particularly useful if you're away from home and need to know immediately if there's an issue.I appreciate the durable design of the Wi-Fi Water Leak Detector, which features a waterproof shell with a rustproof coating. This means that it can withstand high humidity areas and is suitable for use in various environments.

Needs paid subscription for remote alerts
I was rather disappointed to find that this leak detector requires a subscription for phone alerts and the app is very limited in terms of what you can do with this leak detector. There is no slow leak detection like we used to have with the Hive leak detector (which detects the movement of water through pipes) before they stopped supporting it and solely relies on water physically falling on the two probes to complete a circuit and activating the siren. To stop the alarm you just need to pick it up and dry off.Without any further app control in the absence of a subscription it just functions as a basic leak detector with an audible alarm which is very disappointing for a device that costs £20.

Works fine as a basic leak detector
Requires 2xAAA batteries which are not included. It has two prongs on the rear and the alarm goes off in water completes the circuit between these two prongs. We have had a leak in our downstairs bathroom recently and this could have been helpful to monitor it.It connects via the Tuya app and lets you monitor the device from your phone and will send an alert when the device detects water.Seems quite expensive looking at other devices like this but it does work just as stated.

A very good product and well worth the investment.
Five white water leak detectors, measuring 100mm x 45mm x 28mm high. The height of 24mm quoted by the supplier does not include the feet. The detectors are each powered from two AAA batteries which are not supplied.Any water leakage is sensed via two sensor contacts located on the base. A quick dry test can be done by shorting out the two contacts with something metallic. On detection, the alarm is activated after about four seconds. Although unable to confirm the 90db quoted, it was loud, and loud enough to be heard throughout the house. These detectors all work well on their own, but you also have the option to connect them up using Wi-Fi, to allow alarm monitoring on your phone.Overall, a very good product and well worth the investment.

TOWODE - WiFi Water Leak Detector (5 Pack)
If you’ve ever had a water leak, you will know how much damage they can cause – particularly if it’s one that’s not large enough to notice immediately, but builds over time. This is where a detector such as these ones from TOWODE come in handy as they can alert you almost instantly. In the pack you get 5 x sensors, with each device being fairly compact, measuring around 10cm x 2.5cm x 4.5cm.On the front is the 90dB siren and an indicator LED and the 2 sensor for detecting leaks/drips and the left hand side has a button that you can press and hold to set the device into pairing mode when adding it to the smart phone app.On the bottom is the battery compartment that accepts 2 x AAA batteries and another sensor that will detect flooding water that collects underneath the device.***** In The Box *****5 x Water Leak Detectors***** Installation / Usage *****These sensors use the popular Smart Life or Tuya App, which is great if you are like me and have multiple devices that use the same software, as it means you don’t need a dedicated manufacturer app for each one.Once the installed on your smartphone and a free account created, simply choose the add WiFi Sensor option and follow the easy steps to pair each sensor to the app. As long as you make sure you are connected to a 2.4Ghz network, adding the sensor takes just a couple of minutes at most.Once added, you are ready to place the sensors in your chosen locations (although I would test them first by putting a drop of water onto the pins). As soon as the 2 metal prongs touch water, almost instantly the alarm sounds and a notification is sent to my smartphone. There is very little in the way of settings as this is such a simple device, but it does work pretty well.***** Conclusion *****This pack of 5 leak detectors actually work pretty well. I thought there would be quite a delay in receiving a notification that a leak had been detected but it’s been pretty instantaneous (the notification speed will depend on the strength of your WiFi signal).I really like that they are compatible with Smart Life and do not require their own application, as it means you can use the sensors to trigger other Smart Life devices you may have.I cannot say how long the batteries will last, given that the product has to connect to your wireless network, but I would presume that they can go into some kind of low powered sleep state to help.I should also note that although the item description and user guide states that the siren is 90 decibels, I wouldn’t actually say it is as loud as that.Overall I’m pretty pleased with the functionality of the product at £58.99 (£11.80 each), I think they are reasonable value for money.
