Really nice camera, satisfying set up
I expected the set up on this one to be much more difficult. But it was not. Was a fairly painless set up an install. It registered on the network right away. It worked with my existing non-Amcrest NVR. It’s not a PZT camera despite what it looks like. It’s come with AI tracking and it’s pretty easy to integrate with an existing system. You get your standard tracking alerts and things you can set up but the real highlight here is the thermal imaging. It’s very cool and so far it works beyond my expectations. Very cool to see animals running through the yard at night. I didn’t realize there were so many.Understand for a non-technical person this might be a little bit difficult but if you have familiarity with IP cameras, they shouldn’t be much of a challenge at all.

Big Brother Keep Us Safe!
For the longest time thermal cameras were really out of reach for the lay person. Flir and other big companies had a tight grip on the tech and getting one was easily in the thousands of dollars. However now Amcrest has one thats affordable for the masses. And its great to boot. Let me start off with some pros/consPros:-Most affordable real thermal camera out there-Thermal imaging works as expected and flawlessly with my NVR-Image is crisp and easy to see-Traditional camera is great and works well-Easy to setup for my off brand NVR with accusense-Easy to setup tracking and alerts and worked flawlessly with my AI tracking softwareCons:-Still not exactly cheap, but much more affordable. For my use I wanted a thermal solution for tracking animals of different sizes. I live on a large property with a lot of wild animals. However there are certain animals I want to be alerted of if they come on my property. Specifically coyotes & cougars. However I also get racoons, squirrels, possums, cats, dogs, and even a bear or two. The problem I was facing previously is that my setup was not able to determining between type of animals. So I would get constant alerts from a bird or squirrel. With this I can identify by size and hot spot to alert me of a coyote or cougar. It also is nice that it doesn't depend on a traditional camera to work which at the distance I'm using it for is practically useless in any type of AI tracking. Needless to say I have yet to get one false report at all. Its successfully tracked cougars and coyotes with laser accuracy and alerted me every time. Ive since setup a noise machine that is set off when it detects either to scare either animal away, but not be triggered by animals that I deem are safe. Needless to say this has far exceeded my expectations and I am overjoyed that there is finally a thermal solution for the masses.

Awesome security camera with some cool thermal functionality
I've recently set up an elaborate security system at my home and office. Not that I really *needed* to--I needed a project and it seemed like a good one. The reality is that I live in one of the safest areas on the planet and things are downright uneventful. Still, you never know when you'll need a security system at home or at work. This is one of the stars of the show at my office. Amcrest makes great cameras and I've got a number of them in my security arsenal. This one is really impressive due to some really cool thermal functionality. For example, you can detect if there's a fire or if someone is trying to sneak a smoke in the break room. I have a good group of employees and I don't think they'd try that, but it's still a handy ability to have. Like some of my other Amcrest cameras this has smart motion detection which all but eliminates false alarms due to not threatening situations like a woodland critter walking across the yard or a tree limb falling. The Amcrest app can send you alerts when events you specify occur. Fortunately, that hasn't happened much.I thought it was easy to install and set up but keep in mind that I'm the type of person that sets up an elaborate security system just to have a project. If you're not of a similar mindset I'd suggest you contact a professional to make sure you get it set up and configured correctly. Once you do you've got a great cam. Highly recommended!
