Single Dad, Workplace Romance and Second Chance!
Coach is a football romance that skillfully blends love, sacrifice, and second chances. Set in the world of college athletics, this novel follows the intertwined destinies of Millie and Ford, offering a heartfelt portrayal of their journey. The story begins with Millie harboring feelings for her best friend, Ford, a football star with a bright future. Unfortunately, she is cast aside when an unexpected pregnancy comes into play between Ford and his ex. Cut to 10 years later, Ford returns to coach his college team after a decade in the NFL, and their paths cross once again. Their reunion prompts a journey of rediscovery and healing, set amidst the challenges posed by departmental policies and meddling exes. The characters are portrayed with depth and authenticity. Ford's selflessness and dedication to his daughter and Millie make him a fantastic MMC, while Millie's internal conflict between her job and her feelings for Ford adds depth to her character. I loved this book so much, and am mad at myself for putting it off for so long. Not usually one for second chance romances, this one blew my expectations out of the water. Coach is the first book in the Treasure State Wildcats series. The second book, Blitz just released March 7 and I’m already reading it!

A page-turning, spicy romance!
This was a very bingeable, very spicy romance, which we can always count on from Devney Perry! Like so many others, I’ve been very into the romance between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, and it inspired me to look for a sports romance. Coach had been sitting on my TBR shelf for a while, so I decided now was the perfect time to read it!The story revolves around Millie and Ford, two best friends in college, who would have turned into something more had Ford’s ex-girlfriend not showed up pregnant on his porch one night. Now, ten years later, Ford has a nine-year-old daughter named Joey and has moved to Mission, Montana to be the head coach of the Treasure State University Wildcats, his alma mater. Ford previously played and then coached for the Seattle Seahawks, but he’s eager to get out of that city after his divorce from Sienna, Joey’s mother. What he doesn’t know is that Millie is one of the assistant directors in the athletics department at TSU. She is just as shocked to see him on his first day as he is to see her. They rekindle their friendship and then begin to fall for each other again, but Ford is already on thin ice at work because his predecessor was fired after a huge scandal. He and Millie are both dealing with an intrusive, rude boss; a no-fraternization policy in the athletics department; and Millie’s jealous ex-boyfriend. They have to overcome all of these obstacles to finally be able to have the relationship they’ve always wanted with each other.I read this book in about two days, because the story kept me wanting more. It was VERY spicy, so if that’s not your thing, I would pass or be willing to skip some pages. I really enjoyed Millie and Ford’s love story, but every now and then Ford bugged me a little bit. He was portrayed as a definite strong, take-charge kind of male character (although he was very kind to Millie and supported her career), and for short periods of time it sometimes got to be too much. Ford’s relationship with his daughter was sweet, and I loved the one that developed between Millie and Joey as well. The incorporation of football in the story was also fun. Overall, I would recommend this book if you enjoy spicy romances with single-parent and second-chance-at-love tropes!

amazing single dad x second chance!
I don't read too many sports romances, but this one from Devney hits!!!! I flew through this one so fast. It was fast paced and addicting. I love a single dad, and then thrown in a second chance into the mix and you've got me sold on it. Ford and Millie were actual perfection. I loved seeing them have their second chance, and then add that they have to work together now since Ford is back in town coaching for the Treasure State Wildcats. it's wild to think that 10 years later they are reunited. I LOVED how determined he was to get her back. he was pinning so freaking hard for her and I was here for it. he was doing everything to go out from his way to have and keep Millie in his life this time around. he was not going to let her get away this time. I loved the relationship that Millie formed with Joey. its like they were two puzzle pieces that fit together. and don't even get me started on the tears I shed from the epilogue. perfection. I cant wait for Blitz!5 starstropes:- single dad- second chance- forced proximity- workplace romance- small town- football coach x assistant athletic director

Red Flag Ford
3 Stars because this was a quick read that kept my attention. However, like many other reviews mention, the male lead is problematic.Ford and Millie became best friends in college. Ford dated Millie's former roommate Sienna, who is rude and hateful to Millie. He eventually breaks up with Sienna and Millie acts on her crush by kissing Ford. Ford then finds out Sienna is pregnant and ghosts Millie. He doesn't have the decency to explain any of this to Millie and she finds out from others on campus. Ford then marries Sienna for the sake of their child. He and Sienna end up divorcing, turns out she was cheating on him. Ford accepts a coaching position at his alma mater which brings him back to Millie as she is an assistant athletic director there. Ford wants to talk to Millie and disregards every time she says no. Eventually she relents and Ford apologizes. Just like that ten years of hard feelings are gone. Then Ford pursues Millie despite a no fraternization rule that could cost her her job. He also uses his daughter to guilt Millie into spending time with him.In all the years Ford was gone he never tried to look up Millie or check in on her. They only got together because Ford's new job brought him to her. Ms Perry also makes sure to frequently mention that Ford's daughter looks just like her mom so Millie frequently has to face a small version of a woman that hates her.

Fantastic Book!
Ahhhh! I read this entire story in one sitting, that’s how excited I was to dive into this fabulous new Devney Perry sports romance novel. I seriously couldn’t put it down!🏈❤️The dynamic between main characters, Ford and Millie, leaves you wanting more after (and during) every chapter. 😩💕 This angsty, romantic, and incredibly emotionally charged romance, was truly breathtaking. The obstacles the two characters faced along the way just made their happy ending all the sweeter, not to mention the fact that they came out all the more strengthened and bonded because of them.Plus, miss Joey is absolutely fantastic! I couldn’t write a review for this book without mentioning that. ☺️💖Devney is and always will be a must read author for me, and this book is a perfect example of why that is. She depicted a perfect balance of strengths and vulnerabilities in these characters, giving them real life emotions, pains, heartaches and struggles. A truly fantastic job of making these characters come alive on the page. Plus, the chemistry between Ford and Millie was present on every page! Such a brilliant combination! I only just finished the book and I’m already missing these characters! 😩🥰Although, I’ll be honest, any book and or character Devney writes will automatically be absolutely phenomenal in my mind!Like I said before, I more than enjoyed every word of this book and couldn’t put this story down from the second I received it. It has absolutely lived up to the utter perfection that usually encompasses all of this author’s other work! An absolutely engrossing masterpiece! 👌🏻❤️Long story short, Devney Perry (once again) did such a fantastic job and I cannot wait for my hardcover copy of “Coach” to arrive in the mail! I absolutely need to have this masterpiece physically reside on my beloved bookshelf. ☺️🏈This book is absolutely going down as one of my top reads of 2023!Love, love, love this book, and love, love, love this author! No surprise, “Coach” gets five very well deserved stars from me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is my first book by this author, and I will definitely be reading more. Loved this book, sweet and spicy and gave me all the feels. Loved Millie and Coach and how their love endures and how they are able to make the most of their second chance. Love the found family and camaraderie with all the team in this.

BEAUTIFUL
Oh.My.God. I did not expect to fall in love with this book this much, but here we are! I couldn't put it down and pulled an all-nighter to finish it. A wonderful story of second chances, forgiveness and healing. A book that broke my heart and then put it back together.I adored both Ford and Millie. They are wonderfully written characters and Devney trully made me feel their love for one another. Usually, when it comes to angst in books I always pick a side and get mad at one of the characters, but here that wasn't the case. They were just victims of difficult circumstances (and some bad choices based on stupid boy hormones lol) and I could understand why they made the choices they did. I felt every single emotion that they both felt (thank you dual POV!), so the heartbreak was awful to experience, but it was all worth it for the healing and love that came after it.Ford - I am in love with this man. He is so kind, sweet, respectful, amazing with his daughter and the way he talked about Millie called me single in about 100 languages. And he is still so sexy, hot, perfect amount of cocky, and you can imagine how good the spicy scenes are. I am in love with him, literally.Millie is such a sunshine of a character and I identified so much with her. She is so kind, determined, generous, full of love for everyone, but also has insecurities that many can identify with. What I love most about her is that she didn't let those insecurities control her. Yes, sometimes she made decisions based on fear, but I loved how she took the time to reflect on them and wasn't afraid to admit when she was wrong. I also love so much how she allowed herself to let go of the past and not harbor biterness, which for me is a proof of true courage.Ford and Millie are my new babies, and their scenes with Ford's daughter always brought smile to my lips. God, I did not want this book to ever end. BEAUTIFUL!
