This safe is not waterproof. Or fireproof. It does have a document bag that is described as fireproof. I purchased it as a "Warehouse" item - in other words, someone returned it. It cost $115, it locks and can be opened either with a key or a digital numeric code. Because of the price, and the fact that it beats keeping stuff under the mattress, I initially thought against returning it. But l slept on it an decided that for what us basically a cheap filing cabinet with a heavy door, that was presented in a misleading way - pictures of flames engulfing the safe - l am returning it. I will put the refund toward a certified fire-and waterproof safe that does what it is supposed to do.

The safe was light enough to lift, but heavy enough to feel secure. It was easy to install and to set up my combination, etc. I am very happy with the purchase!

The product is certainly useable and I would recommend it despite the following shortcomings. As to being water proof, the walls seem to be so, but the mounting holes would let water in if the box is caught in a flood and is submerged in water. The product should include material to plug the holes that are not is use. As to being fire proof, I have to take their word for it. The instruction manual is adequate to understand the installation and use of the box, but the translation from Chinese uses Chinese grammar, rather than English grammar. It is curious why a company that exports to the U.S. can't find a good English speaking translator who might charge just a small fraction of the profit the company is making on the exports. If there is no one in China, there are numerous ones in the U.S. who speak grammatically correct English.

I received the safe on time, but unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with its quality. It was evident that the safe was poorly constructed as I could easily open it with a simple screwdriver. I strongly advise against investing your money in this safe and recommend exploring other options instead. It's essential to prioritize the security of your belongings, and this safe simply doesn't meet the necessary standards.

Latch could be made more stable. Hope it holds up.

I purchased the safe listed above and neither the fireproof bag more the mat was included.

Maybe the safe wont burn as is metal but other fireproof safes have 2 layers and probably concrete in between in a fire this safe will get soo hot items in it will combust if not in something much more insulating inside the safe…if your house floods this will take on water…it would be nice if had 2 shelves…for a safe to protect from theft is probably pretty good for the price…if you add somethings at cost to make up for deficencies is good
