Hammerite Metal Paint Smooth 250ml Cream

I can't show the outside rocking chair, ive put it away for winter. But paint i found very easy to paint on, and it has done a great job.

...the tin says on the front no need to undercoat or prime, and on the back is says you might get away with one coat on previously painted metal. Well also on the back it says you need primer on bare aluminium, and having carefully painted Hammerlite primer on the furniture (which I've also reviewed) it definitely needed two coats to completre a table and three chairs - which meant I ran out of paint and had to supplement the 750ml can with another 250ml can to finish off the second coat on two of the chairs - ended up costing about forty quid for Hammerite primer and paint and took a lot longer than expected, though painting this type of garden furniture isn't the easiest of jobs - trying to get gloopy paint into all the crevices required a tiny artists paint brush to touch up all the bits I'd missed, although these were easy to spot as the primer is red. And of course some goes through the holes to the other side and I had to keep going underneath the furniture and clearing up the drips before they set. And this stuff certainly dries quickly, I was able to sit on the first chair I'd painted when I got around to painting the third one.The paint is incredibly gloopy, needs a gentle stir, but it soon turns to glue on the brush. Definitely buy some cheap brushes (eg Home Bargains five for a quid, or Poundland etc) and throw them away afterwards. Not very eco, but I tried white spirit, meths and brush cleaner and nothing would get the paint off the brush or my hands afterwards - Hammerite have their own cleaner which is priced interestingly, a lot cheaper to just bin the brushes.Really took a silly amount of time to strip, prime and paint the furniture, but reasonably happy with the finish - if this deteriorates in a year or two you can be sure I'll be back on Amazon modifying this review and deleting stars as I seriously don't want to have to repaint these this side of 2030!

Easy to use straight onto the rusty metal garden chairs and table. Didn’t drip and dried quickly. Looks great.

It covered the special metal primer that I put on copper pipe on the outside wall , and the colour matches the colourof the wall , I had a new boiler fitted and the plumber had to fit 22mm pipe on the outside wall as this Is new regulations he should know as he Is a GAS SAFE PLUMBER so I left It to him and I treated the pipe after he finishedgives It more protection and It don't go green with the weather PERFECT

For painting intricate garden furniture, this was the perfect solution. Application was easy and coverage was good.

I used the paint for my stern drive,leg on my boat, I only hope that it holds up to sea water. it does look good and has a nice finish.
