Worked as it should didn’t damage the tongue n groove of laminate It’s a nice size so that you don’t mash your hands because the other ones I had before I lost them were smaller. I nailed my hand with a rubber mallet and did it ever suck. This was an icy or two bigger and made all the difference. Works as it should. Honestly, it’s light so it absorbs some shock that ai feel if you were to use a hunk of 2x4 it would mash up the laminate more by not being a buffer as well. I don’t know the right word, but this was better than a hunk of spare wood by the way it displaced the energy from the mallet ever so slightly.

These are the length and size you need to tap in flooring. These blocks hold up for a long time before the edges start to round and you need a new block. Very good quality.

As a flooring contractor I do lots of wood, engineered wood and vinyl plank flooring. I go through many of these in a year. Its fine for light tapping but if you need to put a little more force on it tends to get damaged easier.

Replacement this was purchased as a replacement for a roberts block that broke.

This block started great, easy to use with two different profiles for different types of flooring. The edge just didn't hold up. I was installing LVP and the bottom, inside edge that is against the flooring board started gradually chipping. Not in chunks like you'd think, but long strips, amongst like shavings. Eventually the edge isn't square, and doesn't stay on the floor like it should.

I used mine on every panel of Home Depot's Lifeproof. I was gentle on the tapping block to avoid damage to the flooring. The edge started to get unreliable around 800-900 sqf. I purchased a second bloack as it was more important to me to protect the flooring than to limp along with a tool that could damage the edge of the floor when it slips off. Worked will. I used both sides for different parts of the job. I have not tried it, but I think the edge possibly can be refreshed with a careful cut with a table saw, a good blade and the right height. Not sure, but might give it a try. Overall I was very pleased with this product

Just installed about 150 sq ft of vinyl plank kitchen floor for a friend and I bought this tapping block as mine was starting to wear. The tapping block worked great and I liked the length of it as the flooring was 12x24 and the length of the block was perfect for tapping both short and long sides of the flooring. It also had a good edge on it that fit my tiles perfectly without damaging the spines. I would agree with some of the other comments that if you are doing a very large area you may want to buy 2 as it didn't appear as if the block may not hold up well for a large areas but held up great for my project. Picture shows hammered edge after completion of the floor (really not much wear), the edge against the tile didn't show any wear.

Got this to replace an old Pergo tapping block, I'm a professional laminate installer and these type of blocks are the best (in my opinion)Ideal for LVT click flooring too.
