It will take the small, supplied screwdriver to change the battery, but this will protect your key better than most. Highly recommend.

It seems like the case blocks the signal a little bit. I need to be within 10 feet to use my remote.

The media could not be loaded.  Pros:- It hides the worn rubber of my 2021 Chevy Silverado Trailboss key.- Easy installation- Quality feel and nice look- Perfect fit- Nice feel of buttonsCons:- much heavier- Very bulky- Remote range is extremely shortened- Wrong symbol on tailgate button (lift gate instead of tailgate)- metal key in fob is not accessible when case is installed- rubber lanyard ripped apart after light tugOverall opinion:I don't think I will leave this cover installed on my fob.It solved the issue I had (worn and flaking rubber of keyfob) but it added more problems than it resolved.The biggest potential problem is that if you walk up to your vehicle and the battery has died, you won't be able to access the actual metal key inside the key fob without having a tiny Philips screwdriver handy. The thought of not being able to pop my hood to replace my battery while I'm not home, gives me anxiety.The range of the remote is also extremely shortened with this metal case installed. I would guess it's about a third of what it is without the case.Another problem that is very specific to my dcenario is that the case makes the key so bulky that it won't fit in my dive case anymore. I will have to take the case off every time I'm going for a scuba dive at the lake which I'm sure, will annoy me enough to leave the case off.If you prefer a nice look and don't mind losing a lot of functionality, go ahead and buy it.

Easy to install, appears durable & good value all get 5 stars. Overall I give this product 2 Stars. The main reason for this it needs additional engineering. You do loose access to the key which is a big deal. To gain access to the key you need the screw driver to disassemble the case. Why is this a big deal? Without access to the key you can’t lock your glove compartment or more importantly you can’t unlock the access to the spear tire or unlock the door if the battery is dead. This is a Hugh miss on the engineering.

Does not allow for remote start, or unlocking from normal distance. Have to be less than 10ft from car with case on, in order to get signal.

The fob looks great. However, be aware that the distance of the signal to vehicle is dramatically lowered even with a new battery.
