Is it necessary? Maybe not 100% but I’ve been wanting to get one for ages. And once you use it there’s no going back. It’s another very pleasing part of the process. It feels heavy and solid and well made, and just leaves you with a beautiful flat dose of grounds ready for the tamp (just bought from same company). No regrets, only smiles.

Bought as replacement for a 54mm 3BOMBER distributer I had with my previous Sage machine. Adjustable makes it easy to get a level puck before tamping.

I love it. I saw other people using distributor for making expresso and I have been wondering for a long time to buy it. I wish I had bought it sooner. So worth it, smoothes, flattens and pushes your grinded coffee at the same time and you will see a huge difference in your brewing with less channeling. Must have for expresso making.

Works great! Nice heavy and well made device. Not sure if it’s actually required since I already use the tamper made by the same company which does a superb job. Looks like it’ll last for a nice while.

This is an awesome distributor! Cannot believe how long I went without one of these, in my opinion now after having used this for a few months is that this is a must have tool. It is just another simple step that makes the puck prep more consistent every time, I use it right after I use my WDT tool to break up any clump and it gives you a perfectly level surface to tamp on every single time!
