Very good, but quite expensive in comparison
Wanted a clear and sparkling dimmable LED bulb for the crystal light on the landing. This was so it could be dimmed during the night, to provide enough light to get about, without causing too much disturbance. It is one of the last few remaining filament bulbs to be replaced with an LED and it has been quite difficult to find a suitable LED bulb for this particular light. Had thought about removing the dimmer switch to use a more conventional, and less expensive, non-dimmable clear LED bulb, but decided to give this a try. At 6 Watts, it is not the brightest, but is bright enough and quite comparable to the 42W halogen bulb it replaced, but only uses one fifth the electricity. So now I don't mind so much if it gets left on. I also wondered if it would work with the existing dimmer switch, but it works surprisingly well, though doesn't dim quite so much and flickers a bit at the lowest setting. It is expensive, about double the price, compared to other more conventional dimmable LED bulbs now available, but it suits the crystal light much better. It is also one less filament bulb wasting electricity that regularly needed replacing. Will see how well it lasts.

Good replacement for old fittings
I bought one of these to see if it was a viable replacement in the six fittings I have in the living room, three on the walls and three on the ceiling. We have looked for ages for replacement fittings that would take new bulbs but can't find any we like, so went down the LED route instead. After seeing reports of failures on other brands I went for a name I could trust. I can therefore compare directly with the halogens in the other fittings. This bulb is just a fraction bigger, but still looks in keeping with the fittings. The light is brighter than the halogens, which were rated as 35w replacements - the lumens rating is about 20% higher and that's what it looks like. The little 'crown' at the centre of the lamp does a great job of throwing the light in all directions; I've put it in a wall fitting, and it perhaps throws the light slightly more downwards than the halogens, but only slightly. It does throw a faint tracery pattern of lines in the light that is more noticeable on the shade, but personally I find this rather attractive. Colour is possibly slightly colder, but you would have to look hard to notice. Overall, very pleased, both with the lamp and prompt delivery. Waiting to see it last a few months at least, and to use up our remaining halogen stock, and I'll start replacing the rest.

Sparkly :-)
These are quite pretty when they are on - the glass edges create a few star bursts. Nothing too trashy or noticeable. I think they would look better in a chandelier on show - a waste to stick a shade on them. Dimming is not great actually which is surprising as normally the Philips Master LED worked well for me. This one just does not dim as low as I would expect. Also its 2700K claim is colder than that, probably more like 3000K. It sticks out a bit whiter than other bulbs I have but not a deal breaker if you had all of these. Would still be reasonably 'warm'. Not cheap though and competition is stiffening up on these. There are other dimmable LED candles. I tried's BELs (British Electric Lamps) and they also worked well.

The single best LED bulbs we've ever owned - and I have many!
We are really impressed indeed with the beautiful, bright, lovely design bulbs. They are brilliant, in both senses of the word! And the light is certainly warm, with a mildly pink/orange hue. It replaced another LED one which was of the 'cheap' variety. Same wattage, but the other one was really cold looking, not anywhere near as bright and yet the same wattage! I'm even more satisfied than I thought I would be. These are easily the best LED bulbs we've ever bought! So although not as c heap as some, are head on shoulders better than the cheap alternatives. As long as these last well, I shall not hesitate to buy them again when it comes time to replace them.

Best energy saving bulbs I have tried so far
Ok so I have bought lots of different types of energy saving bulbs in an effort to find the best ones that most closely replace traditional bulbs and these Philips Master LED bulbs are the best I have found so far. They are very bright, at least as bright as the 40w bulbs they are designed to replace if not brighter. Their warm white colour is perfect too, just like an incandescent or a halogen and yet only 6 watts which is a massive saving. The clever light scattering prism inside makes the bulbs quite attractive to look at too - though they are so bright you can't really look at them unless they are dimmed a little. The only minor flaw I have found is that whilst they certainly do work with dimmer switches, they seem more sensitive and below a certain current, they won't actually stay on at all so if you're the type who puts a 40w bulb in a dimmer switch and likes to keep the bulb really dim on minimum juice a lot, this might not be ideal for you.

value for the money
These bulbs give a better light than our last ones, so we are both well pleased, and they were delivered a lot quicker than expected. Will buy from same supplier in the future

Good buy.
A little on the dim side but these lights still spread a good light, they're the best led lights I have bought up to date they look so close to normal filament bulbs, they do however give off a hazy look which you either get used to or you don't, I suppose this is to enhance the look of chandeliers and I use 2 of them in my living room which have a sparkle and haze to them. Once they bring out a 60 watt equivalent I will definitely purchase them.
