Hearing Amplifier - Affordable Behind The Ear Hearing Amplifier Device

I owned a $2000 aid as I have hearing loss in one ear. I lost it and decided that I would try this one before buying a new expensive one. In my case I find that this aid actually does as well as, if not better, job than the expensive aid. The ear insertion piece is a little large, I will have to buy a smaller insertion as the smallest given piece is too large and a little uncomfortable. Hearing aids do not give a "normal' hearing, as there is always the background noise problem even if you are told that it is filtered, the noise can still be confusing. I use the hearing amplifier when I watch TV so that I do not have to have the TV sound up loud. I am very pleased with this aid.

The sound Quality is poor (compared to the Beltone units). The unit amplifies the background noise in places like restaurants, or at home with the TV playing at normal levels. Background noise is raised to the "Painful" level, and conversation gets lost.In quiet environments, listening to speech, it works pretty well. There's no "low Battery" alert, and when the battery goes dead, the unit just "Fades away" over a hour or so, and then isn't there at all any more. Battery life isn't bad I'm getting about a Day and a half with heavy usage.About a week out the unit stopped working, and upon disassembly, it was found that one of the wires had broken off the internal microphone. When I soldered it back on, the unit worked again, and has continued to function normally. They are OBVIOUSLY not assembled with much quality control.BUT - for what they cost, as long as it keeps working, It's worth the money.

I decided to order this item based on the discounted $31.99 price of the original $389.98 and the high ratings given here by others. My experience with this item is not a good one. The amplifier is just way too big and bulky, the part that goes behind the ear is 1 3/4" and if the tube that goes over the ear is included in measuring it's 2" total. Even the smallest of the three ear pieces was too large to go in my ear properly, but I could hear sound through it. When I adjusted the volume up just a little I could hear a contant frying noise. The brochure included states: "use sound magnifier only when situations require amplification of sounds, such as movies, television and the like. sound magnifier is not to be worm(sic)" and the message ends there so I don't know what the writer was attempting to get across. The good news is that Amazon has sent a printed return label and I'm returning it. Thank you, Amazon.

I would not buy this ear piece . it is uncomfortable and hard to adjust . it amps up the sound but it amps all the sound then adds a hum to it . When you tone it down to eliminate the hum you also lower the sound .so it makes the use of the device useless .

Cannot it believe how well this works for my Mom. It has been very difficult dealing with her hearing aids. This product works much better allowing her to hear. That is worth the difficulty getting them to stay in place. Another issue is the battery has already had to be changed, after two days. So it looks like I'll be buying a lot of batteries. On the other hand the batteries have to be re[;aced in hearing aids every 4 days.

So far so good. Mom says its comfortable and no static. Just got it today so will keep you posted. I know it's much better because i don't have to yell. Plus it comes with 3 batteries and extra ear piece.okay update.. batteries DIES VERY quick.. although my mom is able to hear this is not a great product for her due to the batteries running out so fast... think they latest 2 days....

This amplifier more than met my expectations. I really expected it not to work. I expected it to bring in static and all sounds loudly and mask the sound I wanted. It did none of those. I was and am totally amazed. For a cheapskate like me to find something like this is beyond amazing.The only reason for only 4 stars is that it constantly needs to be adjusted to my ear canal. It is nor a perfect fit.

The device was excellent but unfortunately I had to return it. I had ordered it for my mom but when she read the instructions, found out it could not be used as a hearing aid and that's what she thought she was getting.
