My husband... the skateboarder.
After a skateboarding fall, and during the Ortho ER visit the doctor recommended buying this specific one. We were paying out of pocket for this specialist bc he was out of network, but had far more experience with accidents related to sports (and we have lots of accidents related to sports). He normally charged over $200 for the same one in office, but since we were paying out of pocket he wrapped up my husband with tape and told us to visit Amazon. Amazing product! Very stable and easy to use. My husband could easily apply it with his free hand. Great thumb stability. Since then, a friend has borrowed this for a similar sprain on the same hand that also involved the thumb. It can be difficult to find good adjustable lace braces that also have thumb support in stores. And when you do, they are often expensive and difficult to put on without help. I definitely recommend this and we still have it on hand for our next accident 🛹🛼🥊🏂🤷🏽♀️

Great product; great price!
My brother had loaned me his wrist brace when my hand pain became unbearable. From the moment I put it on just stabilizing my hand brought instant relief. And the brace was so comfortable I could wear it all day and while I slept at night. I loved it so much I bought one of my own.

good support, could be more comfortable
I borrowed a friend's similar brace and it had an interior cushion that made it less irritating to the high friction points inside the sleeve. This one is comfortable and does the job supporting my wrist/thumb joint, but rubs on my wrist bone over time if I wear it for a long period of time.

Absolutely perfect. I wear it to bed every night and am able to sleep without waking up 8-10 times with pain like I did before. Thank you.

Not comfortable at ALL
Bought this for DeQuervain’s, but it was super uncomfortable. There’s no padding in this brace so while it does immobilize your thumb, it’s not cushioned and wearing the brace for longer than an hour is super uncomfortable.

Highly recommend! A true account of my experience.
Have had these braces (one for each hand) over 39 years, wore them every day for months after surgery even diapered my son with them. Surgery was done on both my hands the same day. Surgery cuts the tunnel open allowing the swollen tendon to slide thru painlessly but doesn't solve the problem of the swollen tendon. i think surgery was unnecessary because slicing that tunnel open does not cure the problem. The key to my healing was the rod in these braces that immobilized my thumbs as well as the wrists. Other braces don't immobilize the thumb and if your thumb hurts that's very necessary. The tendon on my dominate right hand even had a bump on it that made my thumb snap when the tendon passed in and out of the tunnel. The left hand became affected compensating for the right hand. The surgeon sent me to be fitted for these braces as soon as the bandages came off. He told me to wear them every day and only take them off to bathe or swim. i did that and avoided gardening and other dirty activities. Now days being able to buy them on line would have bought a second pair. 40 years ago that wasn't possible nor was that affordable. So, i've taken good care of them. It took months for the swelling to disappear. Since then wear them from time to time when tendons swelled up. It is also key to eliminate repetitive actions and learn to use your whole fore arm lifting (children and everything else even casting with a fishing rod) instead of your wrists. It's surprising how we abuse our wrists. Pay attention to how you can relax your wrists, adjust your movements, the swelling will go away. The tunnels must rejoin where cut because the pain occasionally returned if i didn't pay attention when the boys were little then when i returned to work and used a keyboard all day. At the first sight of tenderness i wore them to bed every night. Years would pass before the next flare up. Now 40 years later i use them occasionally for flare ups usually when crocheting intricate patterns, lots of lifting, etc. It's a matter of paying attention and adjusting your behavior. Oh! almost forgot. i wore my braces to work every day and learned to key with them. Mother crocheted sleeves just like the braces so even the thumb was covered to keep the velcro from snagging my clothes. Necessary. After 40 years need a new pair. Hope new ones are as durable as the original pr and that insurance will replace them.
