I’ve purchased these twice and while they work well, they only last a couple months at a time.

Let me begin by saying. I bought the zapper that these bulbs go in for my parents. A lot of my purchases are actually my parents purchased but as they getting up in years they often ask me to order for them the things they want or need . …. Last summer my poor beloved parents were being chomped to bits…. And I’m so serious when I say that… I’ll explain , my mom had a corner on the couch that she like to sit and pray and read her bible. She keeps her pens and note book and bible and her little prayer books and whatever. She has a lamp right next to her and that’s her lil spot where she talks to Jesus…. let me add to this review the fact that my parents sliding door and screen is left open all hours of the day and night and any kind of critter crawling or flying just comes right in like it’s party time. They think they’re still in the Bay Area they forget with age that they’re in the desert now and Nevada has got some BUGS!!!!!! Anyway I show up for a visit one night about 7:30 the sun is going down and my mom is sitting in her spot with her lamp on reading her bible and let me tell you she is sitting in the middle of a swarm !!!! She must have 50 mosquitos just flying around her head prolly bleeding her dead!!!! I say MOTHER MOVE OUT THE WAY YOU ARE SITTING IN A SWARM OF BUGS…. I pick up their zapper shaped like a tennis racquet and start swinging and let me tell you it sounded like microwave popcorn. I killed so many mosquitos it was crazy … so after that I said we gotta get better zappers for this house. We purchased 3. My parents loved them but that is for another review. Summer is upon us and my parents pull out their zappers again but the bulbs are all dead. So I purchase a pack and let em know I’ll be around the next day to put their bulbs in. Bulbs arrive on time I head over to my mom and dads and I tell my mom to unplug the zappers and I install the bulbs. Two of the bulbs down light up. So don’t you know I reach to remove the bulbs without turning the zappers off and unplugging it and that thing hit me like a bolt of lightening . I got turned up so high my eyes rolled to the back of my head and I couldn’t pull my finger away from it . My mom is not paying attention but after a second looking at me with my eyes roller back she lets out a little gasp and somehow I get my finger back… Boy I was jacked up good it scared the daylights outta me !! My finger was black I thought I was gonna lose my finger nail. I can hardly believe what a dumb thing I did so don’t make my mistake . These are good bulbs they do the job and if your not careful you could be zapped up dead as a bug !!! So be careful !!!! .

Needs a longer life. You get two bulbs. One worked, the other didn’t.

Brought lights in May 2025. Finally, opened box on January 1 2026. The box containing the four bulbs had three with the end caps fallen off. The fourth bulb did not work. So, all the four bulbs were useless. I still need replacement bulbs.

Kills all kinds of flying bugs (gnats, mosquitoes, etc) in a flash (literally electrocutes them). Uses only 20 watts for any typical pest killer, and it's easy to clean up the debris. Versions that use the lights to attract the bug, then catch them with a gluey surface have to be thrown away and replaced when 'full' or the bulb dies. With these, you just pull the plug and use a screwdriver with a plastic handle to get rid of any remaining voltage on the unit, then pull out a tray and in necessary, replace one or two of the bulbs (those do, unfortunately, die within a few months because of the high voltage; that's the only reason I didn't give this 5 stars). Before we got these, we had flying bugs all over the house; now, though the one in our bedroom kills at least a dozen a day, we rarely actually see anything flitting around.

There was no problem with these fitting my Aspectec unit, which was nice. The packaging wasn't as protective as I might like, but all the bulbs were in good condition, so either it was good enough, or I got lucky. I was disappointed to learn these only last for 2 1/2 - 3 months, when I think the originals were good for 6-9 months, but looking at the listing, 3 months is what they say to expect. Overall, I'm fairly satisfied, but may try other brands looking for something that lasts longer. Added ... one of the bulbs was flickering from the day it was installed, so I expect that one will probably last much less than three months.
