SEB792654 - Pressure cooker accessory, rigid perforated stainless steel steamer basket for 4.5/6L pressure cooker with internal diameter of 22 cm

The physical diameter of the steamer basket is 231mm, however the handle does overhang the edge of the basket but that can be raised up if necessary if the fitting is tight. The handle was not very evenly fitted and did overhang on the one side more than the other. I had to bend the handle a bit to make it sit more evenly so that it did not overhang on one side more than the other. Note that the handle does look different to the one in the Amazon product picture as it is not as semi circular as the one in the picture, the one I received has a flat section which is 74mm long with two bumps either side of that which stick out about 7mm from the flat section of the handle, see my included picture. This means that it does not over hang the basket as far as it would if it was semi circular. The two bumps stick out about 7.5-8mm from the edge of the basket. The overall width is about 237mm including the handle so the measurement given in the description is fairly close but remember that the handle can be lifted up as much as necessary so the diameter of the basket is the important measurement.It fits a 242mm diameter pressure cooker such as the Beem/Artame pressure cookers perfectly and far better than I had hoped for, see the Amazon link for the pressure cooker I have which are identical in size to the BEEM pressure cookers, it's only the handles which differ. The BEEM pressure cookers do come supplied with baskets and their site does list replacement baskets but none are available. It's about 62mm tall not including the handle which is about 9mm above the rim of the basket.The basket arrived fitted to a card which the basket hooks into. Unfortunately this provides very little protection and the one that I received did have some scratches in multiple places on the bottom where it must of come into contact with something. This could of been the more conventional pan steamer basket which I ordered at the same time as that does have metal legs which was inside a plastic bag but still could of scratched the Seb basket knowing how carelessly the delivery companies handle packages.The Stainless steel thickness measured half way up the basket sides with a micrometer is 0.44mm and the base might be a little less due to the forming process which could of reduced the metal thickness as the base does seem more flexible than the sides. Decent Stainless Steel pans tend to be around 0.7mm+ by comparison.This basket is fairly expensive, it cost me £20.20 and it does not include a trivet which for the cost should include a trivet IMO. Trivets cost around £3 or so. The cost is relatively high and there are much cheaper steaming baskets available but none of which fit anywhere near so close to perfect as this. Therefore I am quite pleased with it and it should serve me well.I tend to use a steam basket stacked with 2 more conventional pan steamers stacked with a ceramic egg cup support and I use this to steam lots of vegetables at once. I went for a 28cm (fully open) stainless steel basket which fits my 24cm pan quite well.
