Rasmussen 30-Inch Crestline Oak Gas Log Set with Vented Flaming Ember Burner and grate provides a safe, controllable alternative to the dangers and mess of woodburning. For use only with Natural Gas (not convertible to Propane). You light the burner with a match, using your existing wall key valve to control the gas flow and flame height. It does not include a safety shutdown lighting control, but is compatible with all Rasmussen safety shutdown lighting control systems. This set includes five logs, one pine cone and five chips, all made from high heat-resistant refractory concrete, and colored with environmentally-friendly ceramic stains (which age gracefully rather than burn away, like paint does). The logs are patterned from real wood, replicated by molds that take a week to make so that the bark detail is faithfully reproduced. The logs are loose, which allows you to arrange them in a manner pleasing to you. The Flaming Ember Burner is made from heavy 16 gauge steel and ½” Schedule 40 pipe (not light tubing), and all seams are welded for gas tightness. The grate is made from 7/16” square bar steel and fully welded for longevity. The flame is wood-like, rich and yellow, and like a wood fire produces soot, which must be exhausted up a wide open, fully functioning chimney. The set includes Ember Magic, which glows to provide a realistic, flickering ember bed when the flame flows through small loose pieces of the ember material. The set should be used only with the damper wide open, and a Damper Clamp is included to prevent accidental full closure of the damper.
