It works great!
Works great. Helps me get to my destination faster especially in areas where I’m not familiar with. Readability features and accuracy are on point. It was a quick install and a good value for the price.

nice inexpensive GP:S
If you had a Garmin, then you know how they work. Map update took a while and for some reason I had to do the updates twice, but when finished it seems to work well. Easily connected to satellite. I prefer no using my phone, and lilke the reliable suction cup mounts. I do not care about the battery life as I always operate with the power cord. It is the same size as my previous device, which still works, which is to say it is not that large, but can be seen and heard. Bottom line this seems like a good basic GPS. It may not find the best routes sometimes but you will always get home using this.

Built for the Road
I start this by saying I purchased a Garmin Drive 53. And it replaced my Garmin Nuvi 1450 which treated me well. It died a peaceful death. Not having a Gamin made me feel naked. I reviewed the inventory on Amazon. My first choice was the Garmin Drive Smart 66. It appeared there wasn’t anything it couldn’t do. I will comment about this later. The Garmin Drive 53 proved to be a real change from my old Nuvi 1450. I especially liked the navigation voice which was clear and precise. A real improvement. The new unit fit the dash exactly like the old one and everything just worked The suction cup didn’t need moisture. And the new one stuck to the windshield like it had been glued. A real improvement. The final words on this new Garmin are sterling. A great build and a great price. I recommend to download the owners manual annd take advantage of everything built into it. It's also available on the GPS.Now a comment on the Garmin Drive Smart 66 This was my first purchase because I was impressed with the many features. It took time to work through them. And then this popped up. A gray cloud strip covered a portion of the map. Not good. I returned the unit to the seller and Amazon applied the credit. Both operations were flawless. I now have experience operating a well built basic GPS vs a well built GPS with more features. Driving a vehicle requires your full attention. If you are able to talk on the phone, get a weather report, dial in music and maybe get the news, one must weigh these advantages in relationship to the attention needed on the road. Your call!

Great simple GPS
The GPS arrived earlier than expected and works perfectly. This is a later version of the one I purchased 15 years ago for my Tacoma pickup. I has many helpful features including traffic alerts, restaurants, hospitals, etc, I use it for local trips and along with WAYZ for longer trips, since my older truck has no built in navigation system. I find that for traffic delays and rerouting the WAYZ works better than the navigation system in my other newer vehicles.

Good update from old Nuvi with a few things to be aware of
I transferred saved locations from my old garmin device easily. Works just fine. Text to speech is adequate but not as high quality as I thought it might be for a newer device. Also make note that this version of the Drive 53 does not include a traffic receiver power cord so it does not provide live traffic updates. I'm having trouble finding a power cord necessary to provide this feature as my old cord apparently is not supported. Good so far other than those things.
