Scooby-Doo and the gang encounter their most electrifying adventure after they get zapped into a high-tech computer game! When Scooby-Doo, Shaggy and their friends try to capture the Phantom Virus, they accidentally become transported into a video game based on their own Mystery, Inc. adventures. While pursuing the dastardly Phantom Virus through the game's 10 outrageous levels, the crime fighters travel from the prehistoric past to the space-age future and even tangle with a hair-raising horde of virtual villains from their most famous capers! Review: A lot of the new mixed with a little of the old... a surprisingly good movie! - Growing up watching Scooby Doo shows it is probably not a surprise to anyone that knows us that we purchased this movie. What IS surprising is that it took us so long to actually get it. Being as old as it is I am rather surprised I hadn't come across this in the past. Randomly searching for a different show, we came across this and my oldest kiddo begged me to get it. I was very hesitant because of the age, but seriously... there aren't too many of the Scooby shows that we don't like. It took an extra day or two for it to ship for some reason, but we got it quick enough and the kids have wanted to watch it every day for the last week. I hid it for a while thinking they might ask to watch something else for their TV time but they didn't forget about it! The show itself only has one of the original voices (Fred) from what I can remember. That's not really that surprising seeing that the original show was from so long ago. I have personally been used to Shaggy having the same voice (Casey Kasem) for so long that I thought he would have been in this one since it was so old. Unfortunately, he was not... and the guy who does the voice for Shaggy (and I think Scooby) doesn't quite get it in my opinion so it took me a bit to adjust to the voice changes for them. Perhaps since he plays both characters it just seemed like he was ALWAYS talking and that might have been what annoyed me the first time I watched it. On the second time around I was able to ignore the different voices better and pay attention to the actual plot and it was really entertaining! I was very shocked when it came up to some of the old monsters that they had previously defeated and I actually remembered who they were! Seeing the new character versions next to the original characters was pretty funny, too. As an adult, I found the movie entertaining enough to watch once or twice with the kids. I may not have purchased it if the kids hadn't wanted it. However, the fact that it brought in some of the old show was good enough to have seen it no matter what... kind of mixing the old with the new. It really ended up being a decent movie which surprised me from some of the negative reviews. In fact, we bought another one of the older movies based on their review saying they liked it better and we ended up liking this one better. It's all about personal taste and this particular movie was a great hit in our family. Review: Good Scooby Doo Movie - This was an interesting take on a Tron inspired movie. It was well done and I liked how the gang got sucked into a video game and had to play it out to get out of it. It was nice to see them meet their game counterparts and worked together. They had to defeat the “ghosts” from the days of Scooby Doo Where Are? series. Interesting concept.

A Whole New Scooby-Doo!
A whole new Scooby-Doo indeed. Where do I even begin. By now, anyone who knows a bit about this lovable hound and his mystery-solving human companions knows that they've faced many bad guys disguised as countless legendary ghosts, monsters, and ghouls, all while encountering the occasional real super-natural creature. Though some might argue otherwise, this film perfectly combines both of these elements when someone creates a villainous computer virus that becomes a real-life threat to the gang. On top of that, this flick was a nice tribute to the past, bringing back some classic Scooby-Doo enemies such as The Creeper. But the best by far was when Scooby and the gang met Scooby and the gang. That has to go down as one of the greatest moments in Scooby-Doo history! Seriously, is there anything better than Scooby and Shaggy and Scooby and Shaggy chowing down together? The only thing I wasn't a big fan of was when the film would cut back to the gang's friend, the other scientists, and the security guard watching the gang's progress in the cyber world and commenting on it. It was as if they were simply saying "We're still here, by the way." Also, the one scientist's comment about how the perpitrator behind the whole thing could very well be someone among them was so contrived. It's obviously someone we've seen interacting with the gang already...that's how it works. But for these minor faults, this is certainly my favorite of any Scooby-Doo films. It's one DVD no fan should be without. Enjoy.
