Able to program in 1hr increments! Display flashes btwn current time and next activation
I'd been using a basic Orbitz timer on my faucet to replenish my fountain basin every 6 hours. Unfortunately, 4x a day hasn't always been frequent enough - - - especially during the hotter summer days and when there are strong winds that blow the fountain stream in directions outside the well catch basin. I don't need a tech-y, complicated timer system. I just need a timer that allows programming more than 4x a day. I bought this and gave it a try. It works perfectly! Super easy to program (even without reading the manual), and so far it's working perfectly. It comes with absolutely everything you need even including a small roll of teflon tape too. I bought the timer with brass fittings and I did have a bit of trouble physically connecting it to my spigot. The threads on the female end of this did not seem to align with the threads on my spigot. It kept wanting to screw on at an angle so it was askew to the spigot. Of course this meant that it leaked. I must have tried, backed it off, tried again . . 4 or 5 times before I was able to get it on straight and tight. Once I got it on, it's leak free and working great. My pump is no longer in danger of burning out because the water level has dropped too low, the birds are happy because their fountain flows constantly, and I can go about my day without needing to keep an eye on the fountain's water level. Pros: - super easy and self explanatory programming - flexibility in programming in hourly increments - clear and easy to read display screen (even in sunlight) - all parts included (teflon tape too) - leak free connections - the display flashes between the current time, and the next time it's set to activate - I'm only surmising this has to do with this particular timer, but there used to always be a loud "hammer pipe" sound when my previous timer turned off - - - but, no hammer pipe with this new timer. We haven't had any plumbing work done, so since the only difference is the timer, I guess there's something about this one that doesn't cause that noise. Cons: - initial difficulty making the physical connection to my spigot - I know this is just a basic timer, but this is only capable of running one program. In other words, whatever settings for frequency & duration you choose, are the settings for the entire day, ie you can't set it to turn on for 2 minutes every hour during the day, then only for one minute every 4 hours at night To me, the cons are piddly and miniscule compared to how awesome this timer is. If it's really important to schedule for more specific, multiple or irregular settings, there are other more complex and expensive timers out there that allow for that.

Great product and easy to use
This rain point 1 zone water timer works great and is easy to setup and install. I’ve tested both the manual mode and the set schedule mode. The scheduled mode turned on and off when it was supposed to and the manual mode easily let me add an additional watering whenever I wanted. This timer would be good to automate watering for one area that needs the same watering schedule, as it has one hose attachment and allows you to setup one watering schedule. One thing to note is that there is no wifi connection on this timer( some of the rain point timers do have wifi) so if you need to change the schedule often, this is probably not the model for you. I think of this as ideal for an area that can have a one time set and forget schedule for the growing season. The rain delay is a nice feature but I’ probably won’t remember to go outside to manually turn on the delay on each time it rains, so I’m not sure how much use I’ll get out if it. The brass hardware is also nice. I like the look. I feel like the plastic degrades overtime and becomes brittle with the summer heat/UV light, I do not have any concerns about that happening at this connection site. Directions- there are two sets of directions. A quick start guide and a user manual. I recommend going directly to the user manual as it was easier to understand exactly what to do. It took about 20 min reading the manual and setting up the timer /watering schedule before brining it outside and attaching it to the faucet. The instructions were clear and the setup process was quick and easy to implement. I did not have any parts of the directions that I found confusing. There is a setup video online also if you prefer not to read the instructions. I appreciate that it comes with an extra filter, washers, and the teflon that is recommended to put around the hose threads. Not everyone would would think of adding the teflon or have it handy. The only thing that you need to provide yourself are two AAA batteries. I also appreciate the efficient packaging, there is minimal waste and packaging is cardboard that can be recycled. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product if you have an area that you want to automatically water that needs only one hose and would be successful on the same watering schedule.

Great but keep an eye on it
This is the first season to be using this watering timer. It worked great...until it didn't. Easy to set-up and program. Ran great. Until it decided not to. Batteries were fine but it just stopped running as programmed. Realized it after about a week. Did the ol' "turn it on & off" solution by fiddling with the dial and settings - forced a manual run and it seems to be on track again. It would be a 5 if we didn't have this issue. Keep an eye on it and everything should be fine.

Packaging came with all the parts, no issues there. Set up was SO easy, just pop in the batteries and twist in to the outdoor faucet. Turning it on and adding your preferred settings is also incredibly simple. The instructions are there to use and understand the buttons, but I did not need to read the instructions that’s how easy I thought it was to set up. My boyfriend needed instructions so do what you will with that information. Great value for this little thing, it does as advertised, the timer has never failed as far as I know. I’ve had it since this summer and the batteries are still rocking it so they last pretty long. Overall, I would recommend to anyone! Get your gardens ready!

One less daily task to worry about. My greenhouse can now be safely watered even if I’m away for a couple of days. Now I don’t have to find someone to water the plants while I’m away. Easy to program the timer. The battery seems to last a long time.
