good but some downsides
good gun but not enough nozzles i had to cut the silicone type nozzle quite big to allow the flow of lime mortar so needs a spare one for fine work also the filler cup was no good the motar stuck inside it a spooo was better

Not worth the money
Useless for mortar application. It either leaked the water our and so made the mortar to solid to flow out or blew the mortar out of the end! Wasted money and had to bin it. Perhaps if with another product it maybe more successful. Arrived quickly and was as described, but not to mortar application use!

It's all about the mix
I used this with a sand cement mix for re-pointing paving slabs. At first I tried a ready mixed product which just required water and mixed it well and made it quite runny. This didn't work, most of the water came out when I pulled the lever, leaving a very dry sand cement mix stuck in the gun. Before giving it up as a bad job, I tried mixing my own building sand and cement (4:1 ratio), again making it fairly runny, but not using any plasticiser. What a difference, flowed beautifully from start to finish. So easy to use, especially with the scoop provided. Just the job, just wish it had a larger capacity to save the amount of refilling. These products all seem pretty similar (apart from the air or electric powered products), so there seems little point in buying a more expensive product, especially as this seems quite sturdy.

Not for Grouting
No idea how this functions with mortar for re-pointing, but I bought it to grout some floor tiles and it failed miserably. Problem: 2" (52mm) internal diameter Barrel, but plunger is only 50mm diameter. With the grouting nozzle fitted the grout takes the path of least resistance back past the plunger, very little comes out of the nozzle and it all gets very messy. I had to give up. I purchased some 6mm thick neoprene washers and replaced the plunger with these sandwiched between two 40mm diameter penny washers. It works fine now, but be warned!

Useful
Only used it once for repointinga wall but found it many times better than conventional hand trowel application. Also it facilitates deep penertration into the brickwork which would otherwise be difficult.Product quality is fit for purposeas long as care is taken to thoroughly clean after use.

as you begin to use it you will see droplets ...
as you begin to use it you will see droplets of water coming out of the sides and soon after it jams. Basically it squeezes all the water out making the mix dry and hard. Both the front and back of tube are not water tight, especially the back which has big gaps and most of the mix just get squeezed back behind the plunger.Might be okay for bricks using the massive orange attachments but do not buy for grouting tiles!
