Which US coin do you use to open the battery area? Or what else to use to open the device? I can't open it with any US coin.

I had difficulty opening a very, very old model of the Polar Wearlink Coded 31 model (works with FT7 watch, NOT Bluetooth/App enabled) to replace the battery. In desperation, I finally used a tiny amount of WD-40 on a paper towel, brushing the towel over the battery cover. Wiped off the excess and let sit for about 10 minutes. Used a US quarter/25 cent coin and after pressing down VERY hard, with the quarter while turning, the cover opened.The interior was clean, with no battery oxidation or dust/dirt.

If I have a Bluetooth 4.0 LE Android phone, can I connect with this sensor if  I am using a supported App such as MapMyFitness? I

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily.  Besides having hardware support on your phone 2 other things have to happen for apps to connect to this devise.  (1) You will need Android Jellybean (4.3) or later which (finally) added software support for BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy), (2) The app you are trying to use must have been updated to utilize Androids (as of this writing) brand new BLE implementation. Currently most apps do not. Question 3

How do you short the batteries to repair the bluetooth connection?  Any youtube video to show these steps?

I tried shorting the battery connections to reset my H7 and it still does not pair with my Android phone. I finally found an app that forces a Bluetooth connection. It is called BLE Scanner by BLUEPIXEL TECHNOLOGIES LLP. To fix the pairing, "forget" the H7 pairing (bluetooth connection in phone) > unpair the H7 from Polar Flow app > Start BLE Scanner > Manually connect the H7 (the BLE Scanner app will show the pulse rate in a submenu) > Restart Polar Flow app and let the app pair the H7 (not the bluetooth utility in the phone). This is the only solution for my Moto X Pure Edition using the H7, and I'm runing Android version 6.0. I'd be interested to know if the H10 is a better solution, but I won't know until I try it myself. Good Luck!

Question 4

My chest measures 30 inches.  The xs/s fits up to 30 inch chest, and the m/xxl fits 30 inches and above.  Any suggestions as to which I should order?

It also depends on how tight you need to wear it. I wear the M/XXL at or near the smallest size, even though my chest is 34", because my breastbone is a bit concave and the sensor doesn't always pick up well unless it's flat. That's not the most comfortable (though it's not bad for a few hours), but it's the most effective for me. Mine may be a bit stretched out, though; I alternate between 2 straps, but I use them frequently and have owned each for at least a year, and I had probably a 37-38" chest when I first got them. That said, I'd personally go with the XS/S if I had a 30" chest - but if you're the kind of person who can get underwire to lie flat against your breastbone, you'll probably be fine with the larger strap.
