My Garden is a Car Park: and other Design Dilemmas

Very disappointed with this book. I assumed from the title that there would be a significant number of ideas, plans and planting suggestions for creating garden and plant friendly driveways. Wrong. There is just one page, yes one page, devoted to car parking on planted surfaces. The book allocates just one or two pages each (and it is only a small formate book) to a multitude of 'design dilemmas' which, if you were completely new to gardening would stimulate some ideas and promote further research into your dilemma but if you have some experience and an interest in gardens, plants and car parking, you will have come up with better ideas yourself without the aid of this book. I learned more about planting up a car parking space from a quick google search and Pinterest, both free, than I did from this book. For me it was a complete waste of money.

Nice book. Some nice pics and ideas. Most of them would be do'able or attainable. And some not so much! Can't say I'd reference it much other than flicking through the pics.

This is a very enjoyable book, providing inspiration in both the beautiful photos and the easy-to-get-into text. As both a gardener and a consumer of gardening books, I was really impressed with the range of topics covered and the depth of advice given for each “dilemma”. The pictures are so lovely that this will suit a lot of armchair gardeners and maybe encourage them to do the real thing. On top of all that, the quality of the softback format makes it very attractive all round. I loved it.

This is interesting, full of inspiration, extremely helpful, even for a novice like me and beautifully produced. I love that I can dip in and out of it and how it covers so many situations with practical solutions and suggestions. Even my husband picked it up and had a look through and now has a new found interest in our garden. I absolutely love this book!

Good read. Inspiring.

I bought this book for several friends who enjoy their garden and they were delighted! Easy to read, fabulous photos, very informative and you don't have to be an experienced gardener to benefit from all the advice! "Can't wait to make a difference to my garden"! Thoroughly recommended!!

I read this book in bed whilst most other gardening books stress me out! inspirational, motivaltional and achievable. Loved it!
