Watt&Co M2A01H Maglite Mini Mag AA Holster Combo Pack, Black

I bought this Maglite to replace one that I used heavily for over 12 years. Actually I think it was a battery failure that destroyed the last torch, as I could not get the old batteries out - I suspect the batteries themselves expanded. This is the most brilliant torch to have in your pocket at all times in winter, and whenever it's dark in the summer. I'm lost without it. Actually, I use an LED conversion kit, which I transferred from the old torch, and that means it gives a bright light (albeit non-focusing) which lasts for ages and ages - my battery usage is now a lot less than it used to be with the supplied bulb, which was pretty good anyway. There are of course bigger and brighter torches that are better for many purposes, but those torches are not ones that you can keep in your pocket at all times. I have found no torch that is as small, indestructible (almost) and bright as this one, and so easy to carry around. (OK the Maglite Solitaire is smaller, but the beam on the Mini Maglite AA is so much better it's worth the size penalty.) I thoroughly recommend this torch.

Bought two of these for my sons as my eldest was going on a school trip and needed a small torch. They arrived fast but the red coating was scuffed on one of them with the aluminium showing. I completed a returns request and Amazon had despatched a replacement within 24 hours. I just took the defective one to the local Collect+ and it was sorted. Excellent customer service.Now for the torch. I was surprised how bright the beam was from one small lamp. The beam spread is easily adjusted with a twist of the barrel which also switches it on\off. The candle option is a neat idea but the light is so concentrated you find yourself staring at it. It would be OK if positioned behind you for reading. All in all I would highly recommend this and so would my son who had the coolest torch and envious friends.

Good little torch. Being a copper, it's a good one to have on the belt when patrolling. You can twist the torch head which makes the beam narrow into a single spot. This enables you to use it like a spotlight on objects far away. For close range, twist it the opposite way. This makes the beam wider and gives you better, wider area of illumination. To switch the torch on, you have to twist the head. Nice design but a little in-practical, especially if you're going to carry it on a utility belt. I found that it sometimes switched on whilst I'd get in and out of cars. Sometimes when switched on in the torch pouch, I'd have no knowledge of it being switched on, hence battery drainage. On numerous occasions I came to use the torch and found it had consumed the batteries. Still, good torch, but only if you keep an eye on it.

I was told about this by a friend who uses it for light painting (photography). As I was looking to do the same I bought it due to the ability to take the head off and use the bare bulb or use it with the head on and adjust the spread of light.It is a powerful torch for something its size and is good value. it comes in a box that also includes a little pouch to put the torch into.For light painting it is brilliant and as a torch it does the job very well.

I recently bought a 2D maglite for outdoor in the garden type stuff after many years of using cheap torches.I was so impressed with that one, I have just got this one for bedroom use.This is to replace a maglite copy...I always liked the style but didnt want to cough up the cash for a real one...I'm glad I finally have done.The difference between the real maglite and the copy is like night and day (sorry :) )The weight and build qaulity is very good. Finish is excellent.The red colour looks fantastic but the difference in brightness is amazing.The maglite really does put the copy in the shade (sorry again)They may be expensive but to my mind they are definitely worth the extra cost for the extra performance.
