Find Your Frame: A Street Photography Masterclass

Great book to get you thinking and enjoyable to read. For contrast, I purchased two well-known and recommended photography books…I returned them. They were dull, critical and uninspiring. This book will make you want to get out and shoot.

Helps to get into the creative flow. I like how small it is too.

Would have liked more technical info on each picture. Reasons why and rationals are too personal for the reader. Perhaps a text section followed by a gallery of the images would better enable comparisons. Also, if a reader wants to go back to a specific image by selecting from the end notes, returning to the end notes requires scrolling through the whole book.

I strongly recommend this book for those who are into photography with the deepest passion. It is an excellent tool to have when you need it.

Great book very helpful. Explained a lot of why and how. Have used some of the things I learned from the book taking photographs.

Find Your Frame gives credit to street photography and the author's personal sort of how to guide to a specific craft he has honed over 20 years. Craig Whitehead has combined in short lessons his approach to street photography, including things he's learned in the field, tips, his creative approach, his sources of inspiration, and a host of trade secrets. He's included sample images and advice to anyone who's interested in becoming a street photographer or learning what he believes to be the tricks of the trade. This is another resource I believe would make good addition for a coffee table read. While informative, I feel that the content and information shared is highly a masterclass but more of a how to guide to shooting street photography from his point of view. 3.5/5 ⭐️s

If you're into street photography this is a great little book to read. There aren't many books I read from cover to cover in one go, if at all, but this certainly kept my interest. Plenty of ideas and inspiration which I believe have helped my observational skills.

Struggling to find my style and sometimes walk the streets for hours without taking any shots, or sometimes take shots of something I think looks good only to find out later that none of them work when I review them at home. Seems it’s all part of the process and this book helps you understand the journey into street photography. It’s all about capturing the things you see in the way you see it and not necessarily how others may have seen it. Gave me some good motivational support to keep me out on the streets, to try new things, and not to give up. I know my style is there somewhere I just need to find it similar to how Craig Whitehead found his and describes it in his book. I enjoyed reading it.
