Great value!
As soon as I took them out of the box. I knew they were not a cheap Chinese knock off. I wear these every day and they are great and really comfortable. 10/10I have now had these shoes for a couple of weeks and whilst I love the shoe they are not waterproof I walk my do in the morning in damp grass however the right shoe lets waterCan you help in anyway. Maybe there is a waterproofing spray or something.Regards Paul

Comfortable, sturdy, waterproof and good looking
Mainly used for walks of up to around 5 miles, in towns and not-too-muddy countryside. They have been very comfortable, and waterproof in puddles and rain. But I'm disappointed that the soles are nearly worn out after only 18 months.

High quality and comfortable.
Excellent-very comfortable and high quality as expected of Merril. Would suggest you order a half size larger than your normal size.

Great shoe but a major flaw....
....these are a a great shoe - broke in quickly, very sturdy and supportive with all the bits on to add gaiters etc. Good length laces and as far as I can tell to date they're pretty waterproof. But - and it's a big one - the soles are lethal in the wet. No grip at all which is very odd for a Vibram sole. I really wouldn't use these for anything that involves dampness of any kind - it's like walking on ice. I've never experienced anything so slippery - pavements, stoney ground, grass - completely hopeless and undermines the purpose of the shoe entirely. I've given them a couple of months to wear in but they're still the same. They're confined to summer use now which in the UK means they won't be used at all. Past the return date so I'm pretty disappointed with this....

Perfect Walking Shoe
The first size ordered was too small but the larger one works very well. Comfortable over my normal dog walking (3-5 miles) over uneven ground.Good grip and the sole is cleverly shaped (by design or accident, I don't know) to allow mud to fall off; there's rarely anything stuck as I get into the car. Waterproof so far, though other reviews indicate that won't last for ever, but I'm relaxed about that because I wear out such shoes in a year. When these are done, I'll order a replacement pair.

Dissapointing Hiking Shoe
I've had these Merrell's for a little over four months now and whilst I was pleased with them initially, having a good fit and fairly comfortable to wear, that is no longer the case. The sole has quickly become worn and cracked and the shoe is no longer waterproof. Considering that I average 5km a day walking the dog, surely these shoes should still be pristine? Anyway, I won't be buying Merrell's again and I've just ordered a pair of Berghaus Hiking Shoes and, hopefully, they will fare better...

DANGEROUS LACK OF GRIP ON WET SURFACES
This shoe is very lightweight and comfortable to wear. However a BIG issue I have is that in wet conditions the grip is terrible! One of the reasons I purchased the shoe was the Vibram sole which I have on other boots/shoes and also on my previous shoe from Merrell with all of them providing really good grip. I do a lot of walking and particularly on hills but I wont be wearing these shoes to do it. Very very disappointing to be honest.## Update. Merrell and Amazon have accepted a return and full refund ##
