So I bought these at my vet’s recommendation. I’m very careful on what I give me dog, as I’m definitely a helicopter dog mom. Two days before the 4th of July I gave her one (lower than the recommended dose) and she did fantastic while fireworks were going off. I played the tv loud and that was it. She slept no problem. On the actual 4th of July I gave her a couple during the day while firecrackers were going off. She was fine indoors with no music. During nighttime I ended up giving her 2 1/2 and it was better than normal but still rough. I blasted music and played the tv. However, she typically will try to hide under the couch, under the table, etc. and during these she just layed under the covers in bed. Finally, we found the only place in the house that doesn’t echo the fireworks which was our hallway. Once we set up her up there she slept 4 hours and then went to bed with us no problem. These truly do wonders and she is ridiculously anxious with loud noises. It made a world of difference with her. I also think it would have worked better if I started off with the two pills 20 minutes before they started going off. I was trying not too give her too much and only started with the one pill. It does take about 20 minutes to kick in.

Especially the Basenji. Both love to bark, and the Basenji absolutely does not like visitors. We are half way through our 2nd bag. Both dogs did great when I had a family get together. Neither barked excessively, and the Basenji simply went to her crate and was quiet the entire evening. I give each 1 “treat” in the mornings, and before the event I gave 2 to each about 1 hour before people showed up. Love these!!!

These help a little to calm our lab. Not perfect but worth a try.

We have two dogs that have differing levels of anxiety--one hates thunder and fireworks, the other hates car rides. If we know a storm is coming, or before a holiday that we anticipate fireworks, we give them a few treats and they get very tired. It doesn't solve the problem entirely but it definitely seems to make it less problematic for them. Car rides are still a problem, I think the adrenaline just rips through the treats, but even so these work great and help them to chill out. We always keep a bag in the house just in case.
