When I first bought my telescope the shop and other astronomers said, get good eyepieces as when you upgrade kit your eyepieces tend to stay with you. Added to the fact that when you look through cheap optics you will be doing the glorious heaven a injustice. I have the 7mm, 10mm, 19mm and 31mm Luminos's that I use on my Celestron Edge 8 HD and now I have the 15mm. I can honestly say that I'm not disappointed with any of them. The build quality is excellent and being of aluminium/alloy construction so they are a bit more hefty than many other eyepieces, especially Plossls and cheap eyepieces. I get no issues with clarity almost all the way across the FOV with just slight abberations at the edges. Looking through these EP's is like looking into a bucket rather than the spyhole feeling with Plossls. The 80+ degree FOV is truly amazing and you have to look around inside the eyepiece to see everything. There is a retractable eyecup if you wear spectacles and the whole range of Luminos EP's are Parfocal, which means when swapping between EP's you virtually haven't got to refocus. A word of warning the 31mm is mahoosive. It's the size of a cola can and weighs in at over 1Kg!!

I love this eye piece for seeing the moon crater, it's such a wide view for the 1.25 fitting, you may get about a minute of viewing before having to adjust your mount, unless you're lucky enough to have an electric mount, which wouldn't matter in that case. You get a lot closer with this 10mm but have a view much similar in width as if you where using a 15mm for example. The rubber eyepiece adjustment is great because I use glasses and it stops me worrying about damaging them. Now i've had this for over a year the planets are a bit small to see but can be viewed, i have a 2 x barlow lens which help but does loss the clarity and it is an expensive barlow, so i wouldn't buy one unless you really need the extra size. That being said the lens itself is one of the sharpest i have and is very comfortable on the eyes. Don't forget to use a good quality moon filter as you will need it with the lens to protect your eyes, stay safe and hope you have some wonderful clear skies.

Celestron luminos 10mm eyepiece. Build quality is excellent. Good weight to this and has a rubber hand grip. It has a nice feature where an eyecup is hidden and a twist of the barrel and out it comes great idea. I was a little disappointed that it did not come with a storage case at the price it is. Nice lens cap for protection. Would recommend this to the serious astronomer.

Purchased this EP from Amazon , it arrived and had clearly been used before which wasn't a good start . Amazon accepted this and gave a discount that I accepted . Now ,onto the EP . It's big , no , it's huge and it weighs 1.3 kgs !!! Please make sure your scope can cope with this weight as I'm sure balance will be a problem for some . Build quality is excellent with a big rubber ring around the centre which doubles as the twist up mechanism for the eyecup . I had to extend the eyecup to its fullest to have the best views . Now onto the view . I found them to be excellent, on the whole but at the edges the field of view seemed to brighten somewhat which was a bit off-putting . Also the view didn't seem entirely flat . Having said that , the viewing area was breathtaking and the 82 degrees of viewing angle is fantastic. I used this EP in my Nexstar 8se.

Excellent and high quality eyepiece. I bought the Celestron HD Edge 11 inch and the eyepiece you're provided with is rather generic and not good for planetary details (although great for viewing the moon.) This 10mm is much better

Just meh, I thought it would be a great piece to have. But it’s really average considering it’s nearly a 300 euro piece.

I had head that an expensive eye piece would make all the difference to my viewing - but did not really believe it until I bought this EP - clarity is so much better than the standard EP's - can clearly see the bands and some of the turbulence. Bode's nebula clearly visible. This was using an 8" SCT scope. I am looking forward to the winter months when I will really be able to test it's quality. Might be asking santa for the 32mm EP...

PROS Excelente definición y campo de visión en ambos tamaños, tienen par focal por lo que realmente no tienes que volver a enfocar entre uno y otro, calidad muy buena de materiales. Muy recomendables CONTRAS Muy pesados, al girar el anillo para reducir la luz exterior se pierde gran parte del campo de visión COMPARACIÓN CEL-XL 7 Y 12MM VS LUMINOS 7 Y 15MM XL 12mm y Luminos 15mm me parecieron con la misma calidad de imagen, XL mucho más liviano que luminos, ambos oculares son excelentes. XL 7mm y Luminos 7mm: Nada que ver uno con el otro, XL pésimo, Luminos excelente. Telescopio utilizado: Maksutov Celestron 127 SLT

Celestron's Luminos series eyepieces are, as noted in other reviews, both very heavy and moderately expensive, They are, however, worth it. I purchased the 15, 10, and 7 mm eyepieces (all 1.25 inch barrels) for there 82 degree field of view for my 9.25 SCT, and the difference between the stock eyepieces that came with the telescope and these gems is like night and day. For beginners, I won't suggest breaking the bank until you know you love the hobby, but I would get at least one lens at some point to try it out. The lenses I purchased magnify 157X, 235X, and 336X respectively, with true fields of view of 0.5,, 0.35, and 0.24 degrees (approximately). The 7mm lens is good on my scope on nights of nearly perfect seeing. I now have all but the 23 and 31mm eyepieces, and my opinion of all has not changed. My only complaint is that they are imperfectly parfocal across barrel sizes. Still, I no longer bring out my collection of eyepieces as these are just about perfect for my viewing conditions.

The 23mm Luminos is at the top end MASSIVE weighing in at 1.1kg, make sure your focuser can lift it Nice field of view, not TV but for the price, amazingly good Remember this Luminos is not for the faint hearted, its big and heavy In the league of Terminagler, Enjoy :)

Ocular maravilhosa, definição altíssima até a borda do campo de visão, contraste excelente. Uso em um dobsoniano 8" f/6. O halo ligeiramente mais claro nas bordas existe em céu com poluição luminosa, mas não me incomoda, mesmo na cidade. Não percebi nenhuma aberração cromática na lua e em Venus. Bela aquisição!

This eyepiece is a superb complement to my 6se. A forgiving scope, as far as eye pieces go, nonetheless, this is an excellent match for my orange tube. I've been able to compare the 15mm Luminos against the less expensive stock piece (25mm), the starter kit I have (6, 8, 13, 17, 32 mm) as well as a more expensive ES 20mm. This is currently my favourite eyepiece both for magnification and field of view. And the views are crisp with no noticeable distortion from edge to edge. Good eye relief too. The Luminos 15mm is a very nice eye piece for the money. I can't say how well it works with a faster scope but for my f/10, SCT this is an excellent choice. I've since ordered the 7mm and I'll probably buy the 10mm too.
