AEG Infrared Quartz Heater, IWQ 181 for the bathroom, 3 heat settings, 1800W

Highly recommended. The one we received has three heat levels. I measured the resistance of each setting and they are nominally 600Watts, 1200Watts and 1800 Watts , information not contained in the literature. We hard-wired it to a timed SPST wall switch using pigtails to junction box. Even though our bath is well heated the 600 or 1200 Watts of radiant heat is wonderful, post-shower. The 1800 setting is too much for our needs but is perfectly functional. This unit replaces a very old Dimplex.

This is positively DANGEROUS - they should all be recalled IMMEDIATELY, since there appears to be a basic design flaw. I sent back a previous one thinking there must have been a mistake since there were no leads included. However the second one had no leads either, so I made an appointment for a qualified (NICEIC) electrician to install the heater, with the appropriate leads. This was finally done 6 days ago on the 11th December, and apart from the electrician pointing out how wobbly the fire was in it's PLASTIC fitting, I thought nothing more of it - and just enjoyed the heat while bathing. Today however - a mere 6 days after fitting, I put on the fire before having a bath to ensure the room was adequately warmed, then went downstairs to have a quick breakfast. While eating I heard a loud clattering sound from upstairs and thought that the cat must have pushed something of a high surface. Imagine my horror when I went into the bathroom and found that one end of the fire had melted off the heater completely (hence the noise) and the screws fixed into the small PLASTIC holes designed to hold the heater in place had evidently overheated and the hole surrounds were completely melted through, so that the fire was dangling in mid air held by the electric leads alone. Had I not heard the melted end drop, the leads would also have undoubtedly melted through and our 530 year old timber-framed house would probably have been set alight. Of course I want my money back, and I would also like the cost of fitting the fire refunded, but also this fire is quite obviously much too hot with 3 bars on for the material with which it is made, and should be taken off the market forthwith. I also notice that someone else has complained that the pull cord has melted twice. I bought this because it is made by a German company, so I presumed that it would be well-engineered

Product may have changed as this is a 3 bar not 2, heats 10sq m room fine but has 4 bad points- Only has 2 positions so cannot tilt downwards, mains wiring exits from the front not the rear, the case is metal but has no earth bond point and lastly the unit locates into the wall mount with 3x locating points as shown in picture but when you pull the cord on the right, the left side lifts up on it's locating point. I know Electrolx own AEG but should still not have got passed European safely standards.

Not installed yet, we need extra heat for the winter. Let's hope it does the job

I was really happy with the heater but the cord was soon kind of cut off through the pulling down movement. I bought a new cord and hopefully be able to replace it by myself. I suspect it will happen again but I’m not sure what kind of string should I use instead?

Heater took too long to heat the room. My daughter accidently left it switched on and went out. It got so hot that it melted the pull cord and wiring off and caused the ceiling paper to.peel off almost causing a fire

Alors pour commencer, je l'ai monté ce matin car le froids arrive.Il a été branché a 10h40 a l'entré de mon magasin.A 11h 20 il pendouillait au bout de son fil!!!!Heureusement pour vous qu'il n'y avait pas le client a ce moment la car cela se serai très mal passé.Un appareil qui chauffe a plus de 100°C et qui fond.Inadmissible, je ferais suivre cet incident a toutes les associations de consommateur ainsi qu'a l'iFPF car ce produit ne peut avoir été approuvé pour utilisation en france.Bon courage!

IMPRESIONANTE, tanto el servicio de AMAZON como el producto en sí.Con respecto a Amazon... si realicé la compra un lunes (o martes, no me acuerdo exactamente) el viernes tenía el calefactor en mi domicilio.(Embalaje perfecto y todo en perfecto estado). ¡¡Muchas GRACIAS Amazon, por el excelente servicio!!Y con respecto al calefactor AEG IWQ 121, lo que puedo decir es que es un aparato excelente en acabado, diseño y funcionamiento.He leído en otras reseñas, que otros usuarios se quejan y están descontentos porque no trae cable de conexión a la red eléctrica.Tan solo hay que descargarse la información técnica de la página de AEG Haustechnik y ver que, efectivamente, no incluye cable de conexión.No se de qué se quejan! AEG no oculta información. Simplemente hay que informarse antes de realizar la compra.En mi caso, la alimentación eléctrica para este aparato, va empotrada en la pared, por lo que no se ve ningún cable y el resultado es perfecto.Por último... este calefactor de baño se lo recomendaría al 100% a quién esté interesado en instalar un aparato de CALIDAD de este tipo.Si no es el caso, (y cualquier cosa puede valer) pues hay por ahí mucho cacharro que puede valer.... pero el "bueno, bonito y barato" no existe! Que nadie se engañe!

Der Heizstrahler macht einen soliden Eindruck auch wenn die Seitenwände aus Plastik sind. Strahler konnte bequem direkt an die Stromkable im Bad angeschlossen werden und spendet angenehme wärme.

Tanto instalación,como el calentamiento es casi instantaneo,claro está,todo depende del tamaño de cuarto de baño,primero se arranca con las dos barras ,hasta calentar y luego se sostiene con una solaDe momento muy satisfecho con la compraLo recomiendo
