I Can always count on Miss Devney to write such a wholesome + beautiful story.Ford + Millie are bffs & are torn apart due to unforeseen circumstances. 10 years later they are reunited when Ford is hired as new the head coach + millie is the AD.One thing about me is I’m going to absolutely devour a second chance romance!!! My heart broke for them both. There was so much wasted time between the two despite being secretly in love with each other 10 years prior. << I loved that ford went for it with millie. He didn’t budge at all when millie tried to push him away. Major points for ford!!I loved seeing the relationship between Joey + Ford and Millie!! I’m so glad Joey had millie since her relationship with her own mother was so rocky.& let me tell you the spice I was surprised!! It was hottt!! The truck scene yessss I loved how they just couldn’t keep their hands off each other. & ford?!!! He COULD NEVER LOOK AWAY. Ahhh!!!Another thing I loved was having a sport rom where the MMC was the coach and not the player. Even though ford had played professionally I enjoyed seeing the different side of a sports rom.I loved all the other side characters as well!! I can’t wait for toren’s book after hearing about the age gap!! Ooofo 🙈🩵

This book was AMAZING!! It has so many tropes wrapped into one book and the dirty talk was .. wow 👀🔥Ford Ellis ran from his old life when he found out he had gotten his college girlfriend pregnant. Wanting to do right by his unborn daughter, her married his ex and quickly started his future career in the NFL.Millicent Cunningham was Ford’s best friend. The best friend who had a crush on him for as long as she could remember. After the one and only kiss they shared, Ford suddenly cut off all contact between them. It’s the last time she’s seen him until he’s hired as the new head coach at their alma matter, where she also works. 🫣I loved Ford and Joey; he truly was the definition of a man who would sacrifice everything for his child. The epitome of what a father should be. Also the way he went after Millie was so freaking sexy!!! He knew what he wanted and wasn’t going to take no for an answer 🥵🥵 Joey was a sassy kid who wasn’t afraid to speak her mind about things; I loved that. Millie was shy and reserved for majority of the book, but toward the end she really came into her own; she started doing things for her own happiness rather than to please others. She didn’t care what people thought about her anymore and it was inspiring to see her growth!I truly cannot wait to read more in this series. This was my first sports romance and it did not disappoint, but then again could Devney ever disappoint us?

miss girl devney perry is one of my fav authors!!!!! anything she releases, I’m gonna read it, & I know it’s gonna be so good!!!! I’m a stan thru and thru!! this was one of my most anticipated releases for the first part of the year!! & I was not disappointed with coach!!! millie + ford were soulmates in every form!!tropes: single dad, friends to almost lovers to strangers to friends to lovers, second chance romance, sports romance, workplace romance, forbidden romancesingle parent (specifically a hot dad) is one of my fav tropes & no one does it better than devney!!!! she always kills it!!ford is a retired NFL player & he is back in montana working as the new head coach at his alma mater, where he is reunited with a friend from the past & almost lover, but the timing was just never right for them, until now??? 👀👀highly recommend this book!! so excited for blitz to come out in 2024!!!!

4.5 StarsWhile definitely different from other work from Devney Perry, this was still a massive hit for me! I absolutely adored this book and these characters and I can't wait for more in this series...exactly how I feel with every other series I read from Devney Perry.Ford and Millie were best friends and just getting to explore something more, something both of them wanted. But life happened and one day Ford was gone. Nine years later and he's back in Montana, not just working near Millie, but with her. Avoiding each other isn't going to be an option, but is friendship really an option either? They never forgot each other and their feelings never really changed, but there's a lot at risk now if they were to try being more, and are those risks worth it?I loved the second chance, single dad aspect of this book and the slight forbidden workplace romance vibes were a perfect addition to the story. I loved that Millie was true to herself throughout the book. Even when she was hurt, she allowed herself to go for what she wanted and I love that Ford never gave up. Devney Perry delivers another 5-star small-town romance. Her ability to create these wonderful Montana towns and fill them with the most wonderful characters is just *chef's kiss* perfect!

I have also noticed that I like the single parent trope and this one delivered as Devney Perry always does, her books is phenomenal 🫶🏻I loved Ford and Millie’s story. Their love story is not the smoothest or the prettiest but when ford sees millie again, he does everything he can to keep her in his life this second time around and make up for the tough decisions he made in their past.And can we take a moment for FORD?? this man. he was everything i needed him to be. a single dad, hot as heck, a dirty talker, a little possessive and jealous, and totally obsessed with Millie. i already can't wait to read the next one.Love Joey as well, she was so cute!!5⭐️

Ford and Millie were best friends 10 years ago. Both were holding feelings for each other, but never acted on them because Ford's ex-girlfriend found out she was pregnant and he made the only decision he felt he could for his daughter. Now, ten years later, he is back, coaching the Treasure State Wildcats, where Millie has been working since graduation. Ford didn't know Millie was working there, but now that he has her in her sights, he won't lose here again. Add in a non-fraternization policy, a nine year old daughter and an ex, things seem to be working against them.I thought this was a great second chance romance. There was a lot of angst and emotion in this book. I felt for Millie here, she has had her trust and heart broken, didn't want to make herself vulnerable. Allowing herself to be vulnerable, could open her up to hurt again, and she doesn't want to feel that pain again. I loved how, even when she was struggling with her relationship with Ford, she connected to his daughter and couldn't help but be there for her.I found myself mad at Ford at the beginning. I get that he chose to do what he felt was right for his daughter, but to completely cut her off for so many years was unfair. We met Sienna though and it started to make sense. She was a mean girl personified and a total villain. He was such a wonderful single parent, and totally was always trying to do what was best for his daughter. It was wonderful to see.I loved how there was this push and pull in Millie and Ford's relationship and this attraction, even when they were trying to avoid it, pulled them together constantly. I really felt there love throughout the book and their worry that external factors were keeping them apart.I loved this second chance romance. It was an awesome read! Devney Perry is an auto-buy author for me!
