I don't want to rely with the sticky part. I'm planning to use a rope through the hole. Is it hollow enough to do it? Can you see the light through it

Yes you can see through it, but I'm not sure how you would use a rope to secure it. The adhesive actually works REALLY well. We use them one each for our motorcycles in the garage. One is stuck to the cement floor and the other to the matting that covers part of the garage floor. Both placements have worked perfectly without any problems.

Most likely no, because the pressure of the car tires will move them. These are not heavy bumpers - they are made out of a thick plastic, but will not stay in place without the adhesive.
