Alice Cooper has just recently stunned/wowed/amazed etc. 20,000 people at The Cropredy FOLK Festival!! He's picked up a whole load of new fans who're now interested in buying from the back catalogue. HERE is where to start.There are several Alice, greatest hits-type, compilations but only this one is remastered. It contains all the original group's big hits - "School's Out", "Elected", "No More Mr. Nice Guy" etc. - plus some album tracks, including the epic "Halo Of Flies". Try playing the latter in the dark and it'll scare the pants off you!Solo Alice is represented by his big ballad hits of the late 70s - "Only Women Bleed", "I Never Cry", "You And Me" etc. - as well as the rocking "Department Of Youth" and the sinister, jazz(!) overtones of "Welcome To My Nightmare". His two biggest non-Warner Brothers label hits - "Poison" and "Hey Stoopid" - are also included.Although this IS the best greatest hits set currently available it isn't totally comprehensive. As it's just a single CD there's no room for several lesser hits that he had on Warner Brothers (such as the wonderfully quirky "Clones") and later non-Warners big European hits like "He's Back" and "Lost In America" are also omitted. Released at the turn of the millennium, there's nothing from Alice's post-'Brutal Planet' comeback phase either; nevertheless, an essential purchase for beginners.For new fans who want to dive straight into individual albums then I'd recommend:-1. "Billion Dollar Babies" - the newly remastered deluxe double CD version has a live concert added from 1973.2. "Welcome To My Nightmare" - Vincent Price has a cameo here!3. "Brutal Planet" - get the DVD as well; it's brilliantly shot and Alice gives an awesome performance.4. "Welcome 2 My Nightmare" - his most current release. Get the FANPACK collector's edition as it contains a huge magazine covering all of Alice's career.Enjoy!!

This is The Best Alice Cooper Compilation I have ever heard and I particularly enjoyed listening to it !Alice Cooper is an outstanding Ballad writer and performer and yet he is best known for his sometimes Cod Gothic Horror performances and Screaming Rock Stuff which (for me) sometimes works, then there in the middle ground of "Schools Out" and "Elected" - he has a great voice and the songs are well arranged.The best though is "Only Women Bleed" which remains one of the Best Ballads that I have ever heard and it IS on this CD which is the reason i brought it.Thoroughly recommended !

Brought back a lot of good memories of the concerts and tunes of Alice Cooper

I purchased this as gift for someone quite young and new to Alice Cooper to give them an overall view of said artist. To that end it worked, although I would have thought some live tracks might have been a welcome addition , and their are some curious edits, especially Hello Hooray, which is short song anyway, but this edit leaves out the whole middle eight, strange!!Most Alice fans will have all this already, but it is a reasonable early compilation for the initiated.

I was looking for an Alice Cooper " greatest hits " cd and found that there were several different ones out there. As a casual fan my cd must contain certain hits such as " Schools Out," " Elected ," " No More Mr.Nice Guy " and the later " Poison." After much searching and deliberation I chose this one as it ticked all the boxes. It opens with the brilliant " I`m 18 " and closes with the wonderful " Hey Stoopid." 21 tracks in all ranging from 1969 to 2000 with the emphasis on the earlier stuff. A great compilation from a true original.

Fantastic arrived early unlike my wife's order which was ordered at the same time and has yet to arrive. Love playing it loudly in the car
