August is a wonder. This book is a wonder.
"What is beautiful is good, and who is good will soon be beautiful." - SapphoThis is such an amazing book! I finished in 2 nights. As it was originally intended for a younger readers, and the fact that it was in the perspectives of middle and high schoolers... it is an very easy read. There is no "fancy stuff" - just simple. But it carries more. And that is how I like a book. Simple, but touching. It makes me smile, makes me laugh, makes me sob, and makes my heart trembled.I also like the way how the story was told in different perspectives from different kids... And it truly shows that you can never see the whole picture of things if only seen from one angle.I would recommend it to everyone - not just children and their parents. Because I believe everybody can learn something from this book. It makes you start question/wonder about the ways we treat others..."When given the choice between being right or being kind, choose kind."This is a book that I know for sure I will be reading it again and again.

Wonder is wonderful!!
A fantastic novel for older children/teens which is also a good read of adults. RJ Palacio explores the issues of a boy who looks very different from other children, describing the feelings and stories oif August himself and various friends and family members. The story is well written and immediately draws the reader in. Much is revealed - often throwing up.surprises - about the lives of those around August. It is funny, shocking, desperately sad and wonderful by turns and once started, hard to put down. A book I am recommending to everyone I know!!!

Upbeat, humorous, life-affirming story that deserves to be read
Beautiful story! After reading about life from the perspective of a very different little boy makes you appreciate what you have and see the world differently. It's a tragedy and a comedy at the same time. I loved August. He was such a smart and funny little kid.

Thoughtful & Insightful
This is a book that is an excellent antidote to a society that is obsessed with looks. What happens to the person who is disfigured and thus could represent anyone else who is 'different'? Although essentially written for children it is also a book for adults. The different perspectives are well- observed. A very good read - highly recommended!

A must read!
This book deeply touched me. Since reading it Wonder, I also bought it for my daughter and a friend. I will never forget this story and I think every secondary school should make it compulsive reading. One if my favourite ever books. Go and buy it, you won't tegret it.

Something that everyone who has been a child should read.
Seeing and empathising with another person's perspective is an important life skill. This story makes these skills accessible, to young minds. It re-awakens an adult's awareness of the complexity of life in schools, the anguish inherent in parenthood. It reminds us that it is what is within us that is important and that we ought to be wary of judging things merely by the way they look. The original book jacket is by far the best, very disappointed with the cover of the new edition......but maybe I have just fallen into my own trap.
