Very calming - good for kids who are just fidgety or like to chew on their hair, etc.
This review was written by my 8 year old daughter: "It's very calming and helps people who get stressed when doing math or stuff like that. It helps you stop chewing on your hair or shirt or whatever you chew on. It looks a lot like a real pendant that you would get on a regular necklace and everyone will look at it and say how pretty it is. No one will know what it is unless you tell them."I looked into this because my daughter gets anxious when doing homework, especially math or when she's being timed. She is very smart, but gets worried about her performance, and then freezes up. She used to suck her thumb, but broke herself of that habit, and now when she's nervous she tends to chew on her hair or shirt. I suggested this and she thought it was a great idea - which kind of surprised me. We are heading into the school year, so we'll see how it goes, but she thinks it's great, so far. We've asked her to do some practice math worksheets, and she told me it helped her not be as frustrated when she got stuck on a problem. Hopefully, she can focus better and it will help her anxiety, too.The silicone is good quality, not breaking down or able to be bitten off. She said it tasted weird at first, but then got better and doesn't taste like anything now. Might be an issue for some kids.

Baby loves it, and it's relatively stylish for Mommy too!
My 5-month-old will chew on whatever gets near enough to his mouth, so I wanted something I could have on me relatively frequently in order to deter him from gumming totally inappropriate things. This seems to be doing the trick! He likes to hold it and chew on it, and plays with the cord while nursing (instead of pulling on my shirt, which is a welcome change). I'm only 5'3" so it's a little long on my frame, but that's not that big of a deal -- in theory I can tie it short if need be. (Note: the knot at the end of the cord did come untied once and the necklace fell off, but I felt it happening so it wasn't that big of a deal. Just make sure your knots are secure I guess.) And it almost looks like real stone (the "brown snowflake" is the pattern I got), which is a bonus. All in all, very happy!

Looks like jewelry
I just sent this to my daughter for her fourth baby. (This daughter has worked in the jewelry field for the past eleven years.) Because of my daughter's work background, I wondered if she would think this necklace just looked like a teething toy on a string, but she says it really does look like jewelry (including at the seams!)Beyond that, her baby loves it, and began to play with it and chewing on it the moment my daughter put it on.I had sent her two of these necklaces -- the brown snowflake one and the opalescent ivory colored one. She says that both look like jewelry, but that the brown snowflake necklace looks the most like jewelry of the two. She also said that her baby is enjoying the donut shape because she can put her finger in the hole! The end result of this investment is a happy mom and a happy baby. What more could you ask for!

Much safer and actually decent looking
We picked this color to match most of my wife's outfits. It does so with the blue and brown hints. It matches the picture well and looks similar enough to stone that most folks don't notice it's rubber until they are close up.As to its purpose, we're pretty happy. The silicone they chose is just the right firmess for the boy to enjoy but not be able to tear. It feels nice to the touch and cleans easily. The satin style cord is soft and smooth and also cleans easily. The breakaway latch is a little tight. I'm not sure it would come open with any force the baby could manage. It's a small complaint, but I'd like it to be about 50% easier to open. All in all, beats picking another set of beads up off the floor. Enjoy.

Attractive and works like a charm but very long cord
The necklace does look nice on, but the cord is very long, and while it looks like stone form afar, up close it is clearly not. The long cord works better because the baby can pull the ring to her and chew on it, play with it, wave it around, but if you are very small, you may feel the cord is too long, and there isn't a good way to shorten it unless you just tie some knots in it.The baby seems very satisfied chewing on it, grabbing the cord, chewing on the cord, waving it around and so on.

Cute
Cute teething product. I still haven't used this but would think my 4 mo old will enjoy it b/c she is putting everything else in her mouth but doesn't have a really strong grip. This would be good for the store or church..anywhere you don't want to take a bunch of teethers and fear that you baby will drop it on the floor..fun product

It's absolutely beautiful. My son loves to chew on it and I enjoy wearing a pretty piece of jewelry that doesn't look like a toy.Only 4 stars because the string it's strung on won't stay tied together in the back so I'm struggling to keep it on.

Great teether
My daughter as forever chewing on my jewelry and several pieces had broken in her eager little hands. This was the perfect answer... a safe, non-toxic piece that she can safely chew on and not break or swallow, and it won;t make her sick. I would not go so far as to call it fashionable... it's not anything a person would wear if they didn't have a teething child... but it suits its purpose well.
