I have about 80% of the house configured with smart bulbs, because I wanted ease of control with integration with Alexa. 100% disclosure here, I don't care about the app for the smartbulbs, as soon as I get it connected and added to Alexa, I don't use the app ever again. However, the app is good, easy to use and quick to add a lot of bulbs.A couple of items to note.1. These bulbs are on the bigger side. They work fine in lamps and most overhead fixtures, but anything with a tight space that only allows for normal size bulbs, these are not going to work there.2. These are the brightest smart bulbs I have had yet. If this is the selling point for you, you just found the ones you want.One really non-quantifiable thing I can note about these. I have other bulbs made by Gosund and these bulbs seem to turn on and off faster than the gosund's. Your mileage may vary. They just seem more responsive.

I recently received an Amazon Echo Dot as a gift and wanted to find more ways to integrate using it in our apartment. Controlling some of the lamps we use in our home by voice and through an app seemed like it would be useful, and it has been so much fun to use as well. My husband was reluctant at first because it seemed unnecessary, but now he enjoys the convenience of a voice controlled light.The bulb was easy to install through the special app, and I was able to get it up and running within 5-10 minutes. The different colored lights and dimmable features has been surprisingly useful as well, as it is nice to be able to control the amount of light you want and the color for different occasions. The price of the bulb was very affordable as well, especially for the quality.

The bulb works great on white and was inexpensive as compared to the more popular stuff, but I didn’t buy this bulb for just white. I got this bulb for my kid to use different colors in her room. But it’s so dim you can barely see the color, even at full brightness. I may be returning this bulb for a different one.Edit: I spoke to the seller after I left the above review and they offered to send me a better bulb. I received it today, but there is no difference. I am however changing my review because of the ease of set up and the customer service I received.

but other than that these are great bulbs that have performed well in our home. If you should happen to have a power outage or surge, it is possible that you will have to remove all of the lights from the alexa connection and then reinstall them, but the process is easy. We had an outage once, and a surge once... the outage we did have to reconnect some of the lights, and the surge we did not. Installing the first bulb is mildly confusing if you have never connected a device to your alexa before, but once you have attached one device you get the hang of it and it is super easy. I do like that you have a ton of light colors to choose from, and you can increase the brightness or dim them within each color.

Maybe you will see this, maybe you won't! Go go sensitivity filter!Last update:Contacted seller about these junk bulbs. I have 17 that are trash, including 4 they replaced 6 weeks ago. They offered another 4 replacement bulbs. I declined. I contacted amazon because I am outside of the 30 day return window. Amazon transferred me to a specialist who was able to tell me that they were outside of the 30 day return window. Super...? Thanks...? I needed to talk to 2 different people for what reason again?If you get the chance to read this - the super short version is that these have a life span of 60 days - not the 5 years they "should" have. When I purchased them, and used them for a while I thought they were fantastic, as you can see below in my original 5 star review. However, in the period of time since I wrote this review, the quality of these bulbs has become painfully apparent.All told, I currently have 16 of these bulbs in my house. At any given time, anywhere between 2 and 5 of these bulbs stops responding for days on end. As of this writing, I have 4 bulbs that I can do nothing with besides turn on and off with a light switch. I have 2 bulbs that are entirely dead - they won't power on with a switch, they cannot be reset, nothing. They are simply dead.Originally, I was working with the seller after exhausting all of the various methods you are supposed to do when having issues with these bulbs, but I have completely given up on that. Nothing like sending a message explaining that you have done steps 1-12 on every bulb and now need a replacement, only to have a message sent back asking if you have tried steps 2, 4 and 7. Going through the app for support is even more idiotic as the people who support the app do NOT understand phrases like "I have tried everything you suggest and the bulb will not power on so there is no way to reset it". They will ask you several times if you have tried resetting the bulb. It got to the point with the app support that I had to inquire if they were being intentionally frustrating to get rid of me because I literally could not make it any more clear that the bulb was 100% broken.Now to keep this review 100% honest, I no longer know for sure how long I have had each of these bulbs, but I know it cannot be more than 83 days, as that was when I placed my first order for a single "test" bulb. However, I know that I have replaced 4 for sure in the last 55 days because I ordered a replacement 4 pack from Amazon to replace the bulbs that were beyond redemption, and 1 within the last 70 days because the seller sent me one to replace a bulb that died early on. This means that of the 17 bulbs I have ordered (and the 5 replacements) over the past 83 days, 6 are complete failures and due to the randomness of which bulbs stop responding, I can say for certain that I have never had issues with exactly 2 of the 22 bulbs. That's some fantastically bad numbers (about 9% of the bulbs you will get will still be fully functional 3 months after you order them), and had I been made aware of this when I was shopping for smart bulbs there is no way in heck I would have bought these.I am now just waiting for bulbs to completely die, while I shuffle misbehaving bulbs into areas where it just doesn't matter if I can't control them with anything but a light switch - though I am running out of places to stuff them at this point.Hopefully you are reading this review and saving yourself the frustration of dealing with these bulbs. My brother in law is a huge fan of Hue bulbs and tried very hard to talk me into getting those. After checking how much it would be to get everything I wanted, I decided that maybe I should look at some off brands. I started with a single bulb. I wanted to check it out and see if they were worth it. They definitely are!The interface is easy to use, set up, and there's no pesky extra steps you have to go through to get Alexa to recognize your scenes (like other smart devices). I use these bulbs constantly. I have a bedtime scene that turns lights on and off then dims them in stages so when I lie down in bed all of the lights are off 20-30 seconds later. No fuss, no muss.I have a morning routine that turns the lights on really dim then brings up the brightness to "encourage" me to get out of bed :) I even have Alexa turning on and off lights as I leave or come home. I never come home to a pitch black apartment, and I never worry about if I left the lights on all day while I am gone.I have replaced all but 1 bulb in my apartment with these, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a quality bulb at a fraction of the price.

Second Update....all of my bulbs are still going strong. The colors are vibrant and the bulbs keep their wifi connection with no problems. They work with my smart home perfectly. I absolutely love this bulb. Especially for the price.Update....the bulb is so bright and is working with my Alexa voice and the schedule I have it on. I have it set up on purple with my Halloween decorations during certain hours and it switches itself perfectly to white at the time I have it set. I love this bulb especially for the price. So much so that I came back and bought a second one for my back porch. Happy Customer!!!I had the light installed, connected to the Smart Life App, and paired with Alexa in under five minutes. My whole house has Phillips Hue lights and I wanted to find a cheaper alternative for the colored bulbs. So far I am extremely happy!!
