Thank you
So relatable and real. Absolutely recommend. Sometimes sad and triggering too, but I’m so glad I found and read this book. It takes so much courage to heal, and even more to write about it so that world knows it’s possible to live well with trauma.

Great book
Although C PTSD is a heavy topic I found this book was well written and a good read. It gives a lot of insight into how childhood trauma impacts us as adults and outlines the steps that the author took on her own healing journey.

Excellent book for Complex-PTSD patients
This book helped me understand complex-PTSD. Many times, it felt like I was reading about my own experiences. In the end, I found the answers I was looking for. The story has a very happy ending, which gave me hope.

Finally, someone like me.
Healing. Hopeful. I purchased the audiobook first, and it resonated with me so deeply, I came back and purchased the paperback for easy reference. The audiobook includes the actual recordings between the author and her therapist. It’s soothing it’s healing. I highly recommend listening to the audio in addition to buying the paperback. Thank you for writing this

This book is so important
Last week I was diagnosed with PTSD from a oftentimes violent and erratic childhood. My first thought was that I can't have the same disorder as veterans. I typed it into Google and this book came up. I devoured the book in 2 short days, and I haven't been able to concentrate enough to read a chapter in years. This memoir could have been written about my life, and followed every stage of my life, except for the happily ever after. I always thought I was flawed, and this book makes me feel normalish and illuminates all the bad behaviors and thoughts like a spotlight into my soul. It has helped me start to heal already, and begin to pause when the rage and self doubt take over. Stephanie captured the soul of how bad it aches and how infuriating it is to be in an endless cycle of wash, rinse, repeat. I am glad this book was written as it gives me hope that I took can overcome my struggles.
