I wanted some backup lights for nighttime power outages - which frankly don't happen often where I live. However, we had one recently and these worked great. They aren't going to provide a lot of light but enough to keep you from tripping over things and being able to see what you are doing. I keep one in my car on the dashboard so it is always charged (and have access if I need it while on the road) and one in my house in my box of flashlights. Both of them worked during the outage even though the one in the box hadn't been charged in a month. I am glad I bought them.

This is a small and light weight lantern. It would have fit into my pack easily without taking up too much space. I also liked the brightness of the light itself. However, the reason I sent it back was because the plastic when you pull to open for the lantern seems very flimsy. I was afraid if I opened and closed too much, that it would give out, or crack too easily. So for that reason, I returned it. It was an easy no-hassle return so for that I'm giving a 4 star rating. For the lantern, only a 3.

Used it on my Catalina backpacking trip. Disappointed that it is not too bright, but it is light and somewhat handy for at night in the tent. Not bright enough to read a book by.

People are geniuses for designing such cute and wonderful items. Let there be light!

This is the second trpe of this lantern that ive purchased but from a different manufacturer. These work as advertised and provide a decent amount of light for a few hours. We leave these in a sunny spot in the car while we travel and while we're out hiking so they're ready for the evening. They are very durable. I left this on the roof of my suv to charge forgot and then we left for a hike. Needless to say the lantern flew off my roof a 45mph, bounced on the pavement and worked perfectly and had no scratches. Will definitely purchase again and have recommended this to others.

Adorable, lightweight and versatile. I've already used it during a recent camping trip and came back to do the review. I ordered the one with warm light, which is perfect for our camping. Really like the flashlight and expandable lantern 2-in-1 design, so that we didn't have to only use flashlight as the light source when camping as we previously did. It's easy to pull it into a lantern and vice versa. It came with a USB charger and the solar panel is on top. The micro USB port is protected by a piece of plastic on top, and the exterior is also well protected so we didn't have to worry about it hanging on our backpack. Overall a great product!

Hard to open, lik let to break after a month of us because you have to use force to open, just enough time to not be elligle for a return. Returning a hassle, amz should offer free pickups for this situations
