This is a sturdy aluminium frame which is lightweight but strong. Easy secure fixture of camera to frame, and various mounting holes leave plenty of possibilities to create a custom self contained setup. I have a compatible handle for this have attached this for extra versatility. Two cold shoes are available for peripheral attachment. The frame offers plenty of mounting options from tripods to simply rest the housing on a suitable surface if need. Can't comment on value as no published selling price at time of review due to availability on Amazon, but believe it was around £70, so well priced.

I have an A7iii but often use an A7siii so whilst I got this mainly for the latter, I thought it might be interesting to see if this works with my A7iii. The answer is..... sort of.So clearly you can see from the photos that it doesn't quite fit. Yes, I know I need to take the strap and rings off but even without that you can see that it's just a little out on the mounting points due to the slightly different dimensions of the A7iii. It doesn't matter much though because the 1/4 20 screw on the bottom does fit and is pretty sturdy so I would still feel comfortable using this.How does it perform? Well, as a cage, it's not one that is abundant with options but its ok. It's relatively lightweight but aside from the mounting screws and 2 cold shoe points its relatively simple. I like that it stays well out of the way of my camera's hot shoe. There is no nato rail which would have been nice.Overall its quite expensive compared to some other brands which offer a little more in terms if mounting options at a similar or cheaper price but look out for offers as that will change the value proposition here

As a professional photographer and videographer, I have been testing out many camera cages for the past few weeks, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed with this Neewer camera cage. The build quality of this cage is very good, and it’s a solid and durable construction that provides great protection. The cage is well-designed to fit the cameras, is lightweight, and features multiple threaded holes for easy attachment of various accessories. The camera easily slides into the cage and is held securely in place with a sturdy screw. It’s not a sophisticated cage, but it offers great protection, flexibility, and ease of use, making it a must-have accessory for any amateur or serious videographer/photographer. This is a review of the NEEWER Full Camera Cage Compatible with Sony a7 IV/a7R IV - aR V/a7S III/a1 range of models. It’s made from an aluminium alloy with assorted ¼ standard threaded mounting points for adding assorted accessories to. The machining is very good plus has two ‘dead shoes’ for accessories to be engaged in such as a microphone and/or small light. It has a Swiss Arca type quick-release base. In use it works well with the actual fit being good with the sheer abundance of threaded holes make it a very versatile frame and it really comes into it’s own in the hand-held video area. Bottom line being it offers a lightweight frame that caters quite well in all respects.

Perfect, super high quality camera cage for some Sony camera models. All the compatible models are listed on the description so make sure to check that before purchasing.It feels like a very solid, good quality and long lasting camera cage which I see myself using for a long time. It can be hard to find good quality camera equipment as there are so many knock off brands but this one is one is the good ones, would recommend.

Since it’s a very minimalist bottom mounting plate, it lacks a pinky grip. In short, it’s not very comfortable to hold.

As a basic cage with various attachment points this Neewer product is useful – custom made for the Sony a7 IV/a7R IV/a7R V/a7S III/a1.It screws on to the ¼” camera baseplate thread and wraps around the camera while still allowing access to the battery compartment and camera hot shoe . The cage has a number of ¼” threads around it to enable accessories to be fixed on, and at 170g, made from lightweight aluminium alloy, won’t add too much weight to the camera.I’ve used the cage on a Sony a7C where it ‘sort of’ fits – providing you don’t mind unscrewing it to get to the battery compartment.A good quality product from Neewer at a reasonable price.
