Great connectors - works fine w/16 gauge if you follow directions, pricey
Super easy to install - took me about an hour for 8 lights. Use pliers or vice grip to flatten the wire a little and it goes in the slot with no problem - installed on a very cold day with stiff plastic and numb fingers and still was fine. Only negative is that these are very expensive for what is probably a manufacturing cost of <50 cents. Still, way better than the cheaper options and supply and demand control the price...

Great product that you won't regret using
I love these connectors!! A lot of the connectors that come with today's low voltage lights are cheap junk. The pins bend when screwing the connectors together and fail to make a good solid connection but not with these. A pair of vise-grips to crunch the insulation around the wires and these go together so much smoother. I also add a little dielectric grease to the wire connection side and have never had one fail from the elements getting in like on some of the other style connecters I've used. Great product, a little expensive, but well worth the money and time saved.

Worked exactly how I had hoped.
I was one like many here who has the defunct landscape lighting product that you cannot buy and so I purchased the current brand product and it has a newer power connector that is terrible so I looked for what else I could use and found this product. Using the detailed instructions listed here I was able to get these to work and work on the first try, no need to reconfigure or adjust which is nice! The reason for a 4 star vs a 5 star is the plastic is not strong at all and I was worried that even after crimping and adjusting these things would break and I could see the strain on them as I clamped down and while it worked I just did not have great confidence in the strength of the plastic. On a different note not related to the rating, the time it took to receive the product was too long, for this size of package the difference in faster shipping has to be considered.

Fabulous replacement for Malibu connectors
These connectors are well designed, amazingly easy to install (and can be removed and re-installed easily) and have all the promise of being a long-term and permanent replacement for the standard connectors that over time corrode and fail. Installation instructions are very clear, and while there's more steps to installing than with the standard slip connectors that come on Malibu lights, these connectors are not hard to install and are solid. I wrap mine with electrical tape for a little added protection, though that may not be necessary. I don't think you can go wrong with these!

Reliable, sturdy & long lasting
I've probably installed well over 30 of these over the years and have never had to replace any of them (note: this brand and others). A bit too small for 10-12 AWG main cables, but I just a razer-sharp knife to shave down the insulation a little so they fit. The connection is way more solid, reliable and longer-lasting than the type that use a thin sharp-ended easily-bent "blade" to pierce the main cable insulation to make the connection. Further, in those, the blade is unprotected from the elements and eventually corrodes. The SSRB types use a solid-spike and it's largely protected by the body of the connector. The only downside with these is having to "split" the zip-cord main cable to put them on - but that only takes a minute. The bright yellow is sometimes hard to hide - but then again it's a blessing for me when I drop one :-)

Although these work fine, they are the worst option at this price ...
I bought these to because they appear waterproof, why advertise a outdoor landscape electrical connector that isn't waterproof. These things are ridiculously overprices to connect only 3 lights and they definitely aren't waterproof. The only way they would be waterproof is if you used shrink wrap over them, if I knew that originally, I would have bought 100 butt connectors with shrink wrap already installed for the same price. Although these work fine, they are the worst option at this price point.

A simple but incredible connector
I bought 12 sets of your connectors and at first I was so disappointed that my 12g mainline didn't fit into the gray slot. But, I thought, why not crimp the outside wire coating with a pliers to flatten it enough to slip into the connector channel. It worked like a charm. I have now installed my backyard lighting using your simple and brilliant connectors. The job was a breeze. I'm sending the Moonray connectors back to Amazon. Thanks for this amazing and incredibly simple connector.

NOT usable on 16GA wire!
I like the idea of this connector but the claim that this is usable for 16ga outdoor wiring is, to put it politely, a total fabrication. Sure, if you take a pair of pliers and virtually crush the insulation flat, the slot in the connector MIGHT fit over the feed wire. If you have 18Ga feed wire, great, these will work well for you. If you have 16ga wire with outdoor wiring thick insulation (not interior, but exterior which is what these are intended for) these are a major pain to install. I won't buy these again.
